Christmas Lights

One morning, I woke up early to see the sunrise; so early that it was still dark out.  I wanted to see the lights lit up around town, so I headed for the roads to gaze at all the Christmas beauty that surrounded me.

I brought a couple of fresh baked cookies
from the night before,

 a hot cup of coffee,
and was on my way.  Come along with me.

The little church that has stood
for 100 years.

A very charming shop in town
that I go to often.
It was closed, but the windows
were all lit up.

Driving through the mall,

and now we're at my favorite
shopping center.

I am always reminded that I live in
California
when I see this palm tree decorated
every year.

Then, I saw the most glorious sunrise.

It was so pretty,
that the reflection of it was shown
on my car.

I hope you enjoyed the drive
around my town
to see the Christmas lights.
Isn't it the most wonderful time of year?

This was a real treat. I especially loved the church bell, and the wonderful Christmas tree all decorated in white. I was thrilled to see video of the beautiful decorations at the White House this year also.

I love the drive around your town. Now I would never think to leave early for a drive like that, but now I will think about it. I am often up before dawn, but just not dressed to go out. I love it. Oh by the way I love visiting Anthropologie too and the decorations and lights are so special, then sunrise is gorgeous.

What a beautiful, morning drive, Sheri! Love the little church - we have one almost identical in our little town. Aren't the shop windows wonderful this time of year? You have some lovely shops there. And that sunrise......the perfect start to the day! The cookies looks so yummy :) Sending hugs to you xo Karen

Thanks for this Californian sunrise tour with all the wonderful Christmas impressions!I liked the decorated palm - for me of course a very unusal view.
Believe me here in my area you wouldn't want to enjoy the sunrise now - the day starts very grey and cold and sometimes frosty.

I adore this post! I love that you were up early before the other people and enjoying all this beauty. And the light -- watching it change from darker near the church to the sunrise. Biggest sigh! Thank you!

Came back and reread....I would so be up in joining you for cookies, coffee and a ride around town. I love doing things like that. A friend and I do Christmas lights ride around a week or so before Christmas, this will be a 3rd yr to do it. Used to take the kids when they were young, then with my oldest grandson....now a friend. Life keeps evolving don't it?

Hi Sheri! The lights are beautiful! I have never gone out in the morning to look at the lights before, we always go at night. I bet the whole mood in the morning is calmer and quieter...until the morning commuters wake up. :) Thank you for the tour, and I loved the palm tree. Have a great weekend!
