Baby Shower Planning

I have been busy putting things together for the baby shower that we are giving Jess next month.  It is going to be a  "mad tea party"  theme.

We will have tea sandwiches, different salads, pastries, and a tea bar with assorted teas.  Jess' mother-in-law will be making most of the food.

Nel's so funny, she's been ordering items on line, and a surprise package has been arriving in the mail every day.  Pink tulle and a banner came one day, and yesterday these Alice in Wonderland playing cards came that we will use as a table decoration.  She's the best party planner.  I found some glittery tissue paper in baby colors.

I will start looking around for pretty plates, cups, and napkins to go with the theme.  Jess has been picking up vintage tea cups here and there, and I'll show you later what they will be used for.

We thought this was a cute Pinterest idea.  Have each guest write a little something on one of the diapers, and Jess will enjoy reading them during those late night feedings.

So many fun ideas.  Can't say too much more, as I don't want to spoil the surprises for Jess.  I do think that the planning is almost as fun as the party!

Sheri, I love the tea party idea. More than just baby stuff ...as Jess is to become a mommy. I know you are getting excited also. I love the teacups. You will have plenty to post about after the party. I adore that diaper idea..it would be good to have each guest bring a children's book as a card.:):) Blessings to you for a fun weekend. xoxo, love you girl, Susie

Love the cups, Sheri! But the look so fragile stacked up like that. Be careful! ;-) Made me gasp a little.

Any new-born baby is a a guest of honor, and as such needs to have a warm, happy welcome by mom-to-be and family.
I'm sure the shower party will be a very successful one as you, and the girls are great planners with plenty of ideas. You've already got a theme, food menu outline, lovely cups, diapers for guests to write messages on them, and parcels on the way.

HOW adorable is this idea??!!! I have to say that the late night diaper idea is THE BEST!!! How nice will that be when she's dog-tired and wanting to cry herself (we know it happens) but she'll read these sweet messages and get a boost! LOVE it!
