Time To Write In My Journal

It rained this week.
And I loved it.
I wonder if it's the last rain
before summer.
These pics were taken
inside my car.

I thought I'd write in my
journal since it was a rainy day.
It's been so long.
The last time I wrote in it was
May of last year.

The power went out all day,
not because of the rain,
but it was a scheduled outage with
repair work being done.
I read most of the entries in my journal,
and this particular day I talked
about many things.
The second I finished reading
the last sentence,
the power came back on.
It was such a strange feeling,
but a good one.  : )

Happy June to everyone.

That was a beautiful way to spend a rainy afternoon. I like the water droplets on the roses. Glad your power is back on. Have a blessed weekend.

Sheri, some rainy days are welcomed. It's nice to just be able to relax, and enjoy our coffee.:):) I have an old journal I wrote lots in while we were moving here...oh my gosh everyday was work being done here and in the house in town. New cabinets in town. I like the old ones here,In town, new plaster and paint. carpeting. I told Ted did we ever stop working that year?lol... I love that you always find the roses...or are they finding you? :) Blessings sweet girl, xoxo, love, Susie

Beautiful handwriting!
I've never had a diary or journal. Now I see many blogs are actually online journals - records of daily events and feelings. At first, it puzzled me as I thought a journal should be private and discreet. But I've come to like it and find it most interesting. It's according to the new trend to focus on the Me, on the Self, and I am for it.

Wonderful pictures, and there's just something about the rain that allows us some time to slow down and focus on reflection of things. Beautiful journal... I've always kept one, but do tend to leave the entries a little too far in between each one. ;-) Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings,
Jill

I've always journaled. In fact, I think that is a trait many bloggers share. We just like to write!

We experience power failures a little too often. That's why we got a generator. It comes in handy!

Your photos are so lovely Sheri, and very relaxing to gaze upon.

Hope your weekend is a good one!

Beautiful photos...I always loved rainy days as a child. Those days I didn't have to work in the garden and got a chance to read a bit more.

I love a rainy day as well, Sheri. Except we've had so many this last month. Eight and one half inches have fallen this last month! The roses are just beautiful with the rain droplets. Writing in our journals really help to show us where we are and where we are going. I wrote in my gardening journal this morning and looked at at past years and find their history so interesting. Enjoy your weekend, my friend. ♥

Such beautiful pictures, Sheri! You really captured the beauty of a rainy day perfectly. I adore a rainy day too. I'm more regular in journaling than missing a year, but mine have sure suffered since starting to blog. Whatever you do, keep them and pass down in the family. I don't know if my kids will be interested in mine some day but I know that I would adore having journals my grandmothers had written, even if it was only what they cooked and cleaned that day.

Hi Sheri - I started a journal years ago and it went....NO WHERE! HAHA I think my problem is that I think you have to write in one every day and when I failed I would just stop. What do you journal about after a yr? Love the rainy pics esp the church with the rain drops!

I love rainy days so curl up and read a book. Lately I have been reading a couple book a week.

Your picture are so good, especially the ones with rain in them. Wish we got more rain than we do.

Have a wonderful weekend.

So many pretty pictures of rain. I find rain a difficult subject to catch, but you have done it so beautifully Sheri. Raindrops on roses are one of the best things. Happy Weekend to you.

I find that rainy days reveal the sunniest of insights. There will be many more to come, but we know the source of our true light. Keep on writing dear one!

Beautiful, Sheri. I especially love the photo of the church in the rain. And glad you knew about the outage so you could plan. Happy smiles your way!

Wow I LOVE the picture of the church through your window (at least it looks like the front porch of a church?) and the roses -- so beautiful. It looks like you enjoyed your time in the car haha! We had nothing but rain for weeks but the past few days have been dry and hot and sunny -- I'm loving it -- but then I'm a summer lover and a winter hater. I don't mind the humidity or the bugs or any thing about summer! Hope you are enjoying a beautiful weekend!

Ah! You captured my heart and passion! It's so refreshing to see others write in a physical journal book {love yours!} Perfect for a rainy day with a cup of tea or coffee. You also captured the mood with the macro shots of the water droplets. It's always good to go back to see what your wrote on a particular day or year...sometimes we gasp at the things we did and the meandering thoughts we had...many times we see what prayers were answered and things which weighed on our hearts. Hold on to these thoughts and reminders of years past...

Sheri,
You have a gift, I love your photos. I think you should publish a photo coffee table book ... a book with your photos and quotes.
Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
