There are always things that I like more and things that I like less when moving to a new place. Here are a few.
Well, for one, I had to leave my roses behind. Hopefully they will appreciate and care for them as much as I did. Also, there is a rose garden in this town if I ever have a yearning to see roses. : )
I just moved to the next town over. It's peaceful with lots of trees and a better place for me to take pictures.
I'm closer to great shops now. Well, that might not be such a good thing. ; )
My home is even smaller than the last one, but I don't mind. I'm all about simplicity as I get older. I used to have grey countertops, which were a bit too dark for me. Now, everything is white, which is a clean and fresh look.
I've always loved blue in the home, and since I now have white countertops, I thought blue accents would be pretty for Fall and Winter. I found this teapot at Home Goods and just had to get it.
I thought that I would not hear the sound of the train any more when I moved, but my first night here when I was lying in bed, I heard that wonderful sound of the train whistle blowing. I had no idea it was that close to us. The train runs through both towns, and when I hear it, it's like music to my ears.
I have lived in small homes, medium sized homes, a big home with a large pool, and I've always made each place a comfortable and safe haven for my family.
Every house where love abides
and friendship is a guest,
Is surely home,
and home sweet home
for there the heart can rest.

Here is the first Halloween decoration I put out. I saw this porcelain figurine at Michaels, and since Jess just got married, I thought it was so funny.I didn't have internet access for a few days and really missed you. Just a few days makes a difference in this caring and sharing world of blog land.

The teapot is gorgeous. Love the looks of your surroundings♥ Happy Friday, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend♥
Welcome to your new home, Sheri. I woke up thinking about you this morning for some strange reason! Said a prayer that your day would be a good one.
My favorite line I used to say to people was that getting married was the same as getting buried--just a few letters difference. lol My husband did NOT think that was funny. xo Diana
My sweet friend, it sounds like your new home is going to be perfect for you. I am sorry you had to leave your beautiful roses behind, but what a joy to have a rose garden nearby.
You are never far from my thoughts, dear one.... MUCH LOVE to you!
It sounds like your new home suits you quite well. I love that blue and white tea pot.
May you settle and be happy in your new home ... sending good wishes your way.
I love blue and white - that teapot is lovely.
Your Halloween decoration is funny, I've never seen anything like that before, just perfect since Jess just got married.
So nice that you have a rose garden nearby, enjoy visiting it - I'm sure you will.
Good wishes for the coming weekend
All the best Jan
Hello Sheri my friend! I sure missed you. I miss the way blogging was back in the day. It seems we can never get a chance to talk. How are you? You should see the colors of the trees here. It is STUNNING! Thank Jess for me for coming by my blog. That was very kind of her!
Best wishes in your new home. We moved in July and I certainly sympathize! It's always hard to leave behind treasured roses etc. I adore your tea pot and love blue and white in a kitchen.

Dear Sheri,
Talk about clueless! I had no idea you were moving.
I know you will be happy in your new home. Roses we can always find, right?
I love the first photo. So green. Not much of that around here.. I miss it.
Take care.

Penny
How calm you are, dear Sheri. I would be in a total tizz for months with a house move, and you have beautifully moved, with a new teapot already! Your new town looks most attractive, and I hope you can still enjoy the roses. xx
Hay dear Sheri,
Your pictures are so so lovely...
I love the trees and the roses so much...
Those colors are amazing isn't it?
And your teapot is lovely, it looks a little
bit like Delfts Bleu...do you now Delfts Bleu?
It's from Holland..
Your Halloween bride is very spooky whaaaawhaa
Wishing you a nice weekend,
love from MarijkeX
Thinking of you, my Huckleberry friend. I know this too will be home, for you are full of love. Thank you again for taking the time to email me birthday wishes this week. Keep us posted. I'm glad you have the sound of a train again. :)

As we grow older we do need simplicity, compactness, and light colors around us. It seems your new home is like that. I'm sure you're going to enjoy life in it.
The red and orange Trees are beautiful :)
lovely Greetings <3
I love your Halloween decoration!
Much joy in your new home. I hope you can settle in soon -- it's so hard, that living out of boxes for a bit. I'm not sure it matters all that much if you move across town or across country -- it still has to be unpacked and placed. But I know you'll be very happy in your cozy new spot!
Hope your new house is good sheri...lovely sunday love Ria x ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Sheri, Welcome back! A lovely share of pics of some new surroundings and nice to see you've settled in. I believe change is good and leads to new experiences and opportunities. I don't think I've ever been far from the train tracks and too love to hear the sound of the bells, horns, and every now and again, a whistle. I wish you a lovely fall season and wishes of well in your new home.
All My Best,
Dave

Glad you got moved in and have had a chance to decorate your new place. I have moved many times since my divorce, and it always has its pros and cons, it seems. Enjoy your new town! Love that quote by Van Dyke
Good Morning Sheri,
I have moved a good bit too. The biggest challenge was the one right after my divorce many, many years ago. Just like you we had a big house with a pool. Our children were still little and my teenage daughter never much liked our small house. But we managed and I lived there with the kids for 12 years! It had a pink kitchen and it was perfect for us.
Wishing you well, sending prayers and love too.
Jemma
Sheri, I can tell by your posts , you are a clean and tidy person. I am amazed you moved so soon after planting your beautiful roses too. I know the new owners will love them. I am way older than you and I want less belongings too. As we age we soon learn it's people not things that make our lives worth living. Also I love to hear a train whistle too...especially during the winter when things seem so isolated. I pray you fall in love with your new town and it's surroundings. Bless you honey, xoxo, love, Susie
Sheri, I'm new to your blog. I have enjoyed reading your post today so much! I'm so sorry about your roses, but your teapot is darling! Love the sound of a train whistle! Change is always good. I've looked back over the years and have been so thankful for all the new people I have met with each move.
I absolutely LOVE that teapot.
I'm enjoying catching up with your life Sheri, and I wish you much happiness in your new home (but you mentioned it's temporary?).
Love the teapot, and like you, I adore white and blue together!

Sheri, Catching up with blogland and you were the first. I didn't know you were moving but, it looks like a beautiful area! Wishing you lots of new wonderful memories!!
Hugs, Jody
Today I went back to read everything you've shared, and I have not had time to read ... Exciting is any change at home, and you, Sheri changed not only his home, and the city you live in. And as you do that, you're like him. I am glad that there are more nature around you and you like new home! I also adore white and blue and this teapot is amazing! Well, you took it. The figure of the bride is very cheerful and nice!
I hope you get a chance to sow their favorite roses in new home! I wish you a lot of pleasant emotions and no doubt they will turn their new house into a cozy place!
