Leftovers!

We headed to Jess' for Thanksgiving dinner yesterday.  We started at 5:00 in the morning when it was dark out to beat the traffic, and we sure did.  It was a peaceful trip there with not many cars in sight.

We are in the mountains now, and it's so beautiful.

Jess lives 5 minutes from here.......it was so good to see the ocean again.

A place of lighthouses

gnarled and twisted trees

birds everywhere

and beautiful homes along the ocean that one usually dreams to own.

Jess greeted us with a fire when we got there.  She has one of the old wood burning stoves that you see from long ago.  Her house is charming, and the main room is open and spacious for guests.

She made some snacks for us before dinner - an idea she got on Pinterest.  Isn't this cute?

I love her balcony with its rustic charm.  She has this pretty patio set out there.

Look at the dress she was wearing.  The fabric looks like turkeys!

And now, the turkey's ready and time to eat.

Jess and her fiancé did a great job hosting their first Thanksgiving together.  She was calm and under control in the kitchen, and the table she set was lovely.  Now, I'm going to have some of the leftovers; maybe the turkey leg they wrapped up for me!

I'm so glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Sheri! It's lovely when our grown up children take over with some of the big holiday meals. Our nephew hosts Thanksgiving and he does a wonderful job! We all bring a dish and enjoy family. We have everyone at our home on Christmas. I bet you are going to enjoy that turkey leg! Have a nice evening. ♥

So lovely to go to your daughter's house for Thanksgiving, Sheri. I love her clever turkey snack made of apples, and the sweet dress she is wearing. Celebrating by the sea is always a bonus. Happy Thanksgiving to you dear Sheri! x

DO YOU LOVE THE LEG TOO? I always took it before everyone else and like usual, I was scolded for hogging up all the good stuff! hahahahahahh

Well my dear, you had quite the drive to Jess's place....the ocean? OH MY....it looks to me like the drive through Carmel!

We had leftovers last night and maybe even some tonight. Enjoy the weekend sweet one, and onward and upward toward Christmas!

Oh how I wish I could have been there in your car while driving through the changing landscape .
I love driving and I never do .....
Three years ago we all went to France when my daugther Anna lived there for a year . How I loved the car-drive from the beginning till the end .
It was a six-hour-drive .
Your daugther must have been so happy to have you there .
I was just thinking about all of that , children , grown up and doing well.
about moving on ..... as a parent .....
I must say I am confused ...... about life .
Just this morning I suddenly got this thought .... of not belonging anymore in the present time .
yesterday-evening I saw this program on tv about the young generation of bloggers and vloggers and I realised I know nothing about that .
They blog and vlog about make-up and fashion and I feel OLD .
I would not even know where to start .
I see young mothers posting there children every day on Instagram and I wonder ..... what if I was a young mother NOW ........
well I am a "young" grandmother now . Can I say that ?
My granddaugther is 4 . But ..... I never put pictures of her on facebook or Instagram .
However I DO love to make many many pictures and video's of her . I do that from the moment she was here with me when her parents were of to work.
So they could see how Eva was doing and BOY OH BOY those pictures and videos are so so precious to me .
I realy do wish I could have that from my children too .
Instead I have boxes with pictures ....By far not so many ......
and no video's at all .
Times are changing . And how about us ?

Sheri,
I agree with Tessa, cute dress! Sounds like your drive allowed great appreciation for the beauty of land and sea. I think Jess made an adorable apple turkey, too cute and there was joy, celebration and giving of thanks.
