Hummingbird

Nel told me that she watched a show on tv about this site in Peru where they've discovered these huge crop circles that are only visible from the sky.  She couldn't believe it, but one of them was in the shape of a hummingbird.  They aren't exactly sure why the Native Americans dug a huge hummingbird into the ground, but it's a very special and protected place, and I wanted to share the picture with you.

Speaking of this special bird, while I was at the nursery this week, I saw many lovely flowers, and there were hummingbirds flying all around me.  It was incredible to watch them.

Have a good
rest of the week.

WOW gorgeous photos and the crop drawing of a Hummingbird gave me chills. I love Hummingbirds and know if you tie Red ribbons to your fence or trees its a "you're invited in" sign for this amazing bird that never stops moving its wings.
Beautiful post.

crop circles are fascinating but this hummingbird design is beyond believable. How did they do it? Your pictures are so good, Sheri. We love our hummingbirds. My husband has a line strung outside my kitchen windows with 3 feeders on it plus baskets of flowers they love and morning until dark there are at least a dozen flying around feeding. It blesses my heart to watch them as they have got to be one of the sweetest little creatures. The honeybees pester them but I guess they have to eat too.

Good morning dearest Sheri! You got some pretty great photos of a very fast bird! Lovely and magical creature, isn't it! Oh, I just don't want to say goodbye to summer. It was too good, and before I get even busier (Monday is when the kids arrive at school), I want to once more go back to my summer memories and enjoy then once again.

Enjoy YOUR day my friend.

WOW, I loved that hummingbird design in the field. Your pictures are stunning. I think of you often as I watch my little hummers being so busy drinking their food. At night they are really busy having their dinner and to get enough food to see them through the night.
Have a wonderful weekend. Really HOT here.
Will be so glad when Fall comes.\

That is an amazing aerial view in Peru! So many mysteries in this world! Such a cute little hummingbird that you have captured and looks like they have plenty of nectar there! So many beautiful blooms. I love my little hummingbird visitors. They are almost tame and will frequently come right up to the Mr. and I while we are sitting on the deck. Especially if their feeder is empty! Hope you have a lovely weekend, my dear. Hugs xo Karen

I love hummingbirds. We get frequent visitors to our feeders. I was raised with the belief of hummingbirds being our ancestors and loved ones passed on paying us an earthly visit. Awesome photos!

Great flowers.
I've never seen a real hummingbird. Here in Bulgaria, meets a very small bird. It says Wren - Troglodytes troglodytes weighs about 10 g

So pretty, all the beautiful coloured flowers! I especially love the sunflower. I need some of them in my life. So interesting about the humming bird because I actually don't think I even knew what they looked like.

Dear Sheri, what amazing photos of hummingbirds, you really are brilliant. When we saw them in Canada, I could not capture more than a blurred outline, they move so fast! And the South American line drawing is quite astonishing. One of our sons in travelling in Peru at the moment - I wonder if he will see it? Happy Sunday Sheri.

So beautiful, especially the one with the sun peering through!

That hummingbird...WOW! I would love to know the story behind that.

I have a Rose of Sharon tree that the hummingbirds seem to love, but they've never stood still long enough for me to get a picture like this!

How interesting that the crops were planted that way. So fascinating, and I wonder how they did it?!

Beautiful photos Sheri! Enjoy your week amongst the beauty of nature.

Beautiful - we don't often see Hummingbirds in the UK - if at all actually.

They always remind me of America as I used to see them when I studied for my yoga qualification in Northern California!
