Pictures Make A Home

I'm all moved in my new home, and now it's time for the fun part - the decorating.  I think when we put pictures on the wall, it makes the house more warm and lovely.  Here are a few pictures that I've hung on the walls.

This mirror is in my entry way, and underneath it is a table which I display my holiday décor.

I have a spare bedroom in purple, and I love this painting of a woman sitting and thinking on the couch.  She looks like she is in deep thought.

When I saw this picture many years ago, it reminded me of me and the girls.  It is hung in my hallway, which I pass by constantly.

When Jess went to Greece, she saw this mirror and had to get it for me.  These are caryatids, which were considered the beautiful women of Greece.  I will always treasure this piece, as it was a thoughtful gift from my daughter.

I've had this picture of the roses for years.  The white roses will go pretty with the white comforter that is in my bedroom.

White Horse

It's time to take a break from moving, and take some pictures.  We live on the edge of a country road, and there is a white horse that I see every time I pass by.  Today I stopped to appreciate his grace and beauty.

I have a thing for horses, but white horses are magical to me.  If this horse were mine, I would greet and embrace him, and ride far away in the distance.  So tell me, do you love horses too, or are you timid of them?  Maybe they don't interest you.....I'd love to know.

Simply More

Hello my friends.  I'm still working away at my house trying to get things organized.  I think I had about ten bags of giveaway.  When you have a big house and downsize, you realize how much stuff you accumulated through the years.  Some of you asked to see more of my new home, so ask and you shall receive.  In the master bathroom, I have a smoky grey countertop, so I thought turquoise accents would be pretty.

I love the holidays, and when I saw this six-shelf cabinet, I knew it would be just right for my holiday décor.

The flooring is a tan tile throughout the front rooms.

 
My new computer chair.  I love the design on it, and it's so comfy.

 

In the last four years I've lived in a couple different places, and although I loved the experiences that came along with it, it's good to be back home.  When I saw this trinket box, it made me smile.

I'm still unpacking, and I can't believe it's only been three days since I've been away from the computer and I miss all my blog friends.  I really do.  I'll come by and visit when I get a break, and it won't be long until I'm settled in.  I'm so thankful for my new home.

My New Home!

Remember when I told you earlier that I was working on something, and I'd tell you when the time was right?  Well, we just bought a new home!  It is our final home, so I wanted it to be the right area, as we'll live here for a very long time.  It was just built, so come along and I'll show you some of the features.
The kitchen countertops are a smoky grey color with stainless steel appliances.

The cabinets are an alder wood, very pretty.

I really like the light fixtures, and they give much lighting in the hallway and kitchen area.

One of the bathroom's countertops is a cocoa color, which I will add white accessories to.

They landscaped the front and back yards already, and when I got there I was surprised and pleased to see this pink cherry blossom tree planted.

I hope you liked the peak at some of the features in my new home.  I will be busy the next couple of weeks unpacking, cleaning, organizing, so I will be around to visit you when I get a chance.  Please think about me, as I will be thinking about you.

All In A Day Of Shopping

I've got my shopping partner back!  Jess moved closer to home, as she just got a full-time position teaching second grade.

 

We did a little shopping the last couple of weekends, and it's definitely more fun shopping with that special someone by your side.  When we saw this, we just had to get it.

Whenever I see the carousels, it brings me back to a precious time when my  kids were little.  They used to love riding the carousels, and this one had a fairy on its back.

I'm going to decorate one of my bathrooms in white, so I picked up all the accessories that were needed.

Jess loves Chai tea, so I bought her some of this pumpkin spice blend.

Shopping is always fun for us, even when we don't find anything that day.  We'll have another shopping day in a couple of weeks, and Nel will join us.  We're going to a really cool outdoor mall that we heard about, and I'll try to take some pictures.

I'm so glad to have my shopping partner again!
