Candle Holder Tutorial

Do you have any candle holders that are out of wax, but are just being stored away somewhere in your home?

I have a couple unique candle holders that I don't want to throw out, but there is candle wax at the bottom.

I found this amazing solution on Pinterest that showed me how to easily remove the remaining wax.

Simply boil some water,

and pour the hot water into your glass candle holders.

The wax will gradually rise to the top.

Once the wax at the top hardens a bit, you may want to cut it in half so it is easy to remove once cooled.

I would wait until the water and wax are completely cooled so you don't pour waxy water down your kitchen sink!

Remove the excess dirt with soap and water, and voilà!

You have a refurbished storage container that you can place a new candle in or use for another purpose.

Let me know if you decide to try this.

That is easier than what I have been doing. I put my own in a pan with water, heat it and let it completely melt-fill it with paper towels and swipe it out..then immerse it in hot soapy water and wash it out. I love those Woodwick ones and save all of mine, too. xo Diana

Very cool Jess....I usually just throw my old candles away. I love how you put your tea bags in there. It's hard to throw away those Woodwick candle holders because they are so pretty. The green tea pot looks cute in your kitchen too.

I tried and it works!
I've been doing this for ages because I love candles but often I love the candle holders more so I had to figure out how to keep them and after many and failed approaches - some were not pretty - I did this and it has been working.
I also dream of the day I'll have lots of free time and so my own candles and then will use those fancy holders.
Thank you for sharing the tip. Some blogs carry tips and bits "parties", you should use this as I'm sure many don't know and would appreciate it.
Love,
Teresa
