Staging Christmas Magic

The Nutcracker Ballet is one of our favorite holiday traditions.

Just last weekend Jess and I went to see a showing of this Christmas classic at the local community college theater.

We had great seats for a stunning performance.

From the moment the heavy velvet curtains were drawn back, we were dazzled by the graceful movements of the dancers, and our hearts were warmed by the sweet children who took part in the show.

Ballet is a truly magical art, don't you think?

During intermission they had a cozy display of baked goods, fizzy punch, and dozens of brightly painted Nutcrackers for sale.

Jess and I treated ourselves to a couple of red velvet cupcakes and cocoa cookies.

We had a wonderful night at the theater. Have you seen the Nutcracker this Christmas season?

I have seen the Nutcracker ballet many times but not this year, and also have a collection of about 20 wooden nutcrackers gathered over many years.

It is a magnificent production and though I did not make any performances this year, last year's show was a great success, seeing two of my dear students dance.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! Anita

Oh that sounds like such fun. I have never seen a ballet and have longed to see the nutcracker. One day I know I will see it in person. I love to go to school Christmas shows. We used to go to dinner theaters all the time. We have not gone for 3 threes now. I miss that kind of entertainment. Merry Christmas to you and yours.xoxo,Susie

What a fun tradition to have in your family. I haven't seen The Nutcracker in a couple of years. Two of my granddaughters played the angels in the play for two years in a row. It was a lot of fun to see them- xo Diana
