A Holiday Hike

This weekend, we went for a hike in the Orange County hills of Crystal Cove State Park.

Along the way, we passed by some interesting landscape.

Is it just me, or this cactus giving us a 'warm greeting'?

We stumbled upon a sun bathing lizard and a little jack rabbit with a white fluffy tail (who unfortunately did not want his picture taken.)  But luckily, the lizard posed for my camera.

We hiked all the way to the ocean, where the seaside breeze cooled us off.

Sometimes the most pleasant afternoon is one spent outdoors.  I hope you all had a very relaxing Labor Day.

Hi Jess! Oh how I miss the ocean of my youth. Malibu and Redondo were my hangouts, but your view out there was probably part of my galavanding around Orange County during my high school days! Happy day! Anita

I agree, it is lovely to spend the day doing something in the great outdoors :) It looks like a great place to go for a hike. I am looking forward to taking the little one out on walks soon, we have some nice little walk paths around here.
What a friendly little cactus indeed, looks like he is giving a little wave :P
Have a lovely day today x

Dearest Jess et all,

This is funny, we seem to be lizard minded... Ha-ha! Nothing to do with Labor Day but just coincidence that today I posted about them too.
Great post and lovely photos that tell their own stories.
Hugs to all of you,
Mariette

Thank you for your visit. You are right. We are similar! I am inspired to go on the hike now that I've seen it. Driven by many times. I am now a follower too and will be back again soon.

Warm Wishes,

Hi,
I have been out of town and just checked in with my blog. Thank you so much for your sweet comment about my daddy's poem. It meant so much to me.
Also, I enjoyed the stroll you took in your post today. It made me smile.
Loved the cactus waving and glad Mr. Lizard let you take his picture.
