I LOVE the ocean. Water is so much bluer in the Pacific than the Atlantic. On the East Coast it's more greenish blue. Probably something to do with the depth? Your hubby is a good guy. Congratulations. You certainly gave your new camera quite a workout. GREAT photos. ENJOY! I got one for Christmas and I haven't opened it yet. But since seeing your post I'm inspired. Once upon a time I got paid to take photos for a local paper. But with the invention of the cellphone, I got lazy using it to take all my pictures.

I know you are going to LOVE your new camera. What beautiful photos you took! Having lived in a small beachtown in Florida when I was growing up, I really love the beach. There is nothing more soothing that the sound of waves lapping against the shore...or the sound that you hear when you put a seashell up to your ear. I love the photos of the surfers. My husband used to surf when we were young. The shops you photographed look interesting. I would love to browse in them! Enjoy you camera. What a great gift! xoxo Kim

I have a very expensive camera, three lenses blah blah blah. Problem is I don't know how to use it. I'm a point and shoot on auto kind of girl!!! My new iPhone Randy bought me takes the best pictures ever. Who needs fancy swanky cameras??

Watch out - it can become an adition when we finnaly we have a machine that makes everything prettier. My daughter says from home to the car I can take 10 pictures ahahahahah.
Digital is really a wonder isn't it? Remember when you had to "save" film for something that could deserve those last pics :)

There's nothing quite like a new camera to give you a new lease on life!! The captures are sooo good, Sheri! Are they all SOOC, or did you edit them? At this time of year , with cold grey days in the east, and no snow to liven things up, I do have a little bit of "California Dreaming" going on! Looks like a great family day!

I am from California, but I am not sure where Encinitas is. I grew up in Los Angeles and went to Santa Monica Beach a lot, but this sounds like a LOVELY PLACE! And just yesterday Ruben and I were talking about spending our 30th anniversary back in CARMEL CALIFORNIA, where we went on our honeymoon!
