My wine cork bulletin board has been an ongoing project for the last year and a half.
I didn't realize how long it would take to fill up the entire board! Yes, I could take the easy way out, and either buy wine corks online or ask others to save theirs for me, but I've decided that the majority of corks on this board will be from bottles that I've shared with friends and family.
I like knowing that each cork came from a tasty bottle of wine, a fine visit, and a shared laugh, all with those who are closest to my heart. It's really been a fun project.
I do have a confession to make: Before my project, I often chose my wine based on the clever and catchy graphic on the bottle (does anyone else do this??), but now I've actually started buying my wine based on the cork. I love when I open a bottle, and I am surprised to find such a unique or nicely designed cork.
Of course I keep the taste and price in mind when choosing a bottle, but I do love a fun cork!
My project is still only half complete, but I couldn't wait to post this beautiful quote from Mother Theresa on my board:

OH! I have seen this somewhere and thought it was a great idea!
Sherri dearest, thank you for coming over. Yes, that is me at the harp...a PICO RIVERA/WHITTIER GIRL! Born and bred on Dalton Ave. off of Manchester in S.W. Los Angeles from Mexican descent!!! My daddy built me the most darling PINK doll house to play in. Not the one in the photo, but just as charming!!!!
Your comments are so kind. Have a wonderful day! Anita
I love this idea as well.I love the Mother Theresa Quote too.
Happy Saturday!
I just love these wine cork boards! There are some very neat corks out there!! I think I might have to copy down that quote and hang it in a spot where I can read it everyday! Have a lovely weekend!

Hi Sheri,
I have a cork board too and it is fun finding neat corks to put on it. I often go for the pretty labels on a bottle.
The quote of Mother Teresa is wonderful, I have it written in my journal.
Many thanks for visiting me and I hope that you have a happy weekend
Hugs
Carolyn
I have a huge glass jar in my atelier that I am slowly filling, too. But like you, I only want pretty, meaningful corks! I had a ball gathering the corks from our trips to France, even tho the waiters always look at me like "Lady, at your age haven't you collected enough corks yet???!!!"
Always nice to read a quote by Mother Theresa.

This is such a great idea! I love it and I love that you are keeping it sentimental by only using your corks! It makes it that much more special! :)
Thanks so much for your visit and your kind comments. Your blog is lovely. I love the cork project ~ and how lovely to know they all came from bottles shared with those you love. I think it makes it more personal that way. Happy anniversary, too. :)
I love the Mother Theresa quote. And I never knew corks had their own little look! I guess I never paid attention. your project is lovely!!

Thanks for your sweet comment and signing on!!
The peaches were so good this summer but they didn't last long enough.
I am your newest follower!!
I absolutely adore the wine corkboard! What a great idea! Love it as a remembrance of happy fun times. Good job! Mona
I love your corkboard so far. I was looking to see what wines we had in common. ha I have tried the Night Harvest wine, too. I see a couple of other wines. I actually have quite a few corks. A friend of mine, years ago, used to save them and put them in glass containers to display. This friend motivated me to save some of my corks as well. I have many corks from special occasions, and I write the date and occasion on them with a permanent marker. Keep going with your corkboard...I know you will fill it and have a great time enjoying the wine along the way! Have a great day! xoxo Kim
I was going to do this same project! I am not sure if I still have the wooden frame and the corks...but I know it took me sooooooooo long to get it going that I gave up. :(
I hope you finish yours because it is starting to look really cool!
Thank you for stopping by my blog and talking about my hummingbird picture. I've got to tell you that you have two things near my heart. That is your title, my favorite rose is the red rose and second, my birth name is Theresa Rose! I always hated it growing up so I go by Terry now, but still use it to sign checks and stuff.
LOL you could fill it up within a couple of weekends in this neighborhood! I think this is such a cute idea. We have a bucket of them, but we have not used them for a project or anything yet. Fun post!
