Easter Hutch

Welcome spring!  We have had some spring-like weather last week, and the warmth of the sun feels good after the winter months.  I decorated my new white hutch for Easter, and the first thing I got was the jolly bunny at my friend A's Home shop.  I've seen this bunny before, and I finally bought it.  Me and A. talked for a long time, and it's always a pleasure catching up as I browse her shop.

I realized I don't have a lot of Easter stuff, as I gave most of it away.  The items didn't suit me anymore, but the few things I did keep I will cherish them forever.  Among them, is the children's book, Leo the Lop.  I gave this book to Nel and Jess when they were 2 and 5, and I can't tell you how many times I read it to them.  It's weathered, the pages are bent, and it's almost 40 years old.  I have a box of children's books I'll never part with, and this is one of them.

After I had two girls, I thought it would be so special to have a boy.  I was blessed with that boy, who is a dear grown man now.  These three bunnies swinging remind me of all of them when they were little.  I've had this figurine since their childhood, and every time they passed it they would swing the bunnies.

The bench sachet was sewn by a blog friend, who doesn't blog anymore, and she gifted it to me.  And the ducklings photo was taken by Kim from Daisy Cottage that I put out every year.  The purple candle Nel gave me a few years ago.  I like to decorate with as much purple as I have because it's just a beautiful color, and the color of royalty, for our Prince of Peace. 💜  Here are a few pictures of my hutch.

This is the first sign of spring around here.

These daffodils are at a hair salon parking lot, and they are one of the first things I see when spring arrives.

Remember the biography that Francesca did on Princess Diana?  Jess said she worked really hard on this, and was excited to learn about her.  Francesca's speech first started out with her sipping tea, and she went on talking about her life, being called "the people's princess," her joy being a mother to her sons, shaking hands with the sick and showing them love, her interest in the landmines, and so much more.  It was an exceptional biography, and Francesca even dressed the part.

When I think of all the effort that Mia put into her Betsy Ross project, and Francesca put into her Princess Diana project, and all the interest they took in these women of history, this comes to mind....

After she did this school project, I remembered that I have the Princess Diana Beanie Baby.  It's vintage, and very rare.  It's in good shape, and I've had it all these years.

Have you tried the fudge mint cookies by Clover Valley?  They are really good with a cup of coffee.

Do you like spaghetti as much as I do?  I have to make it every couple of weeks. 🍝

They're back!.......they're even more special to see because I don't have feeders, and they just come in the wild.

I know many of you are having cold weather still.  We may get more rain in April, and even some snow.  But here is a flower for you until your spring arrives.

Sheri, this is such a delightful post for the start of spring.
Wow, the report on Princess Diana and how your granddaughter did it is quite amazing. I agree with Maya Angelou's quote so much. I loved how Francesca's dressed the part for here biography. A++ and 3 Gold Stars.
Your hutch is fantastic and I love seeing all of your treasures.
The framed John 3:16 is beautiful.

My English mother in law gave our son the Diana Beanie Baby. Must go see if I can find it one of our boxes! If it's worth any money, probably won't find it. LOL!! Off to research "Leo the Lop" too!

The new white bunny is adorable, very sweet. The three bunnies on the swing are something really special because they have a lovely story.
Buying the hutch was a good decision, Sheri; it's always so wonderfully easy to decorate with.

Aren't daffodils like little suns? I love it when they bloom.

Princess Diana was a great woman. Even though it's been so many years, I still cry whenever I hear Elon John's song "Goodbye England's Rose."

Have a nice new week!

Hello,
I love the photos of Francesca. I also loved Princess Diana. She was a very special lady, who cared for all.
The cookies sound good, I love mint. I will have to look for them at our local shop.
Thank you for the daffodils.
Oh and I love spaghetti too.

Sheri - Francesca looks beautiful...especially in the black dress. Your two granddaughters are so creative and smart. Maya Angelou's quote is fabulous. I adore this thought. Thank you for your lovely pictures of the doves and the daffodil. Actually mine are finally blooming even when it snowed. Take care and have a great week. Hugs!

What a fun post, Sheri. Aren't you glad you got that hutch? It's a wonderful display spot for your Easter things, all very personal and special. That Francesca! WOW -- now that is comprehensive. I love her "costume" for her presentation. All the foods look great (as usual) and those flowering trees are fantastic!

I have always thought that keeping a few weathered books like Leo the Lop is the best way to hold onto those precious years of reading together when the girls were small. It is a lovely tribute to see how your granddaughter Francesca put so much heart into her Princess Diana project, and finding that vintage Beanie Baby is such a perfect way to connect her hard work with a piece of family history.

Sherri,
I so enjoyed my visit today!!!! First, I have tried those mint cookies from Dollar General (Clover Valley) and they are so good. Like the original thin mints from the Girl Scouts.
I LOVE that BUNNY!! How adorable. :)
Your hutch looks so nice.
That is so awesome and creative of your granddaughter. She looked so awesome.

I was so excited when I saw the title of your blog today! The hutch is just perfect for Easter. My favorites are the swinging bunnies, the goblet of eggs, and the photo of the baby duck. Francesca is a gorgeous little princess. I think I remember your doves are the Collared ones. Ours are the Mourning, but they look a lot alike. The pink tree is beautiful!

I am so glad to see your blog. For some reason it no longer pops up in my feed. Anyway---OMGosh-I remember when those little girls were born! And now doing book reports and looking so 'grown up'. Princess Diana was certainly a wonderful subject to write about- a caring, loving individual that died way too soon. She was so 'real' in a world that didn't want her to be open and honest.
I love the little bunnies on the swing. I gave Mindy my most prized Easter possession- a little tin box decorated with Easter and dated 1924(?). My mother was 12 when she got it and inside is a little fold-up comb, a green plastic realistic looking watch and a set of magnetic puppies. Their house had burned to the ground and someone gave that to my mother-which was probably the nicest gift she ever got as a child.

I am back to blogging on Fridays (I think that is doable for me). I need to get an email off to you soon and catch you up with life here in the fast lane---hahahah. xo Diana

It is so special to see how the girls work on their projects. How lovely that Princess Diana has become a subject like that, and Francesca does indeed look the part. Thank you for reminding me that purple is the colour at Easter and I need to see what I have now that I am relocated. So much did not make the move with me, including a lot of children's books. But like you, I kept the most meaningful ones. The bunny book is priceless and the bunnies on the swing adorable. I love daffodils, and how gorgeous they are in their bright yellow. Those wild birds are so serene and lovely - I don't know what they are. We enjoy Apostle birds at our new house. Have a great week Sheri.

I have never read Leo the Lop although I have read a ton of books. I bet it is good.
Your hutch looks fantastic I love everything you have on it. It is so pretty and the items are so delicate.
Your photos of the daffodils and the cherry trees are beautiful. Great camera.
I didn't know Princess Diana had a special bear like that. She was a great lady and loved her sons.
I did like Maya Angelou's quote - that is when you know your job is complete.
Francesca was gorgeous! All your girls are.
Fudge mint cookies look like the mint Girl Scout Cookies.
And lastly - love your birds!

The girls are so smart and creative...this is awesome!! I know you are so proud of them. Your hutch is sure looking good, all decorated up for Easter. love the darling little bunny laying on it's side. he is a cutie. I think I have put two things out for Easter and that is it. I've been too busy to pull out my Easter decorations. Spaghetti is one of my favs...more and more, I am enjoying spaghetti with olive oil and seasonings rather than serving it with the red meat sauce. Give me a plate of spaghetti and a salad and I am one happy person. Thank you sheri for always being so faithful to visit my blog. I truly appreciate it.

Happy Spring Day. Your hutch looks very springy. I love rabbits too. I have been cleaning up the garden and getting ready for Easter. Do you make your own spaghetti noodles or buy fresh? We recently had fresh noodles and I cant believe how good they were. My daughter did a report on Princess Diana when she was in 5th grade. Many years ago. She was a beautiful person.

So exciting to begin decorating for Spring/Easter. Love all the little touches you have put together. So precious to see the girls all dressed up like that! Thank you for the lovely daffodil, it is beautiful! We don't have any here yet, but will in about a month. Such an exciting time of year! I do love spaghetti too, but we don't eat it much because of the carbs. But oh how I love it! Blessings to you dear friend!

Super impressed with your daughters and granddaughters Sheri, and we know where they got that from :) I'm sure your son is the same way. You have such a sweet family. Love all your decorations, I have a Princess Diana bear just like yours. It's in a box somewhere. I need to go on a hunt. I didn't get all my teddy bears out this year, which I normally do for Christmas decorating. Thank you for another lovely post. Happy Palm Sunday and a Happy Easter to all of you.

Lovely spring photos of the beauty around you. The doves really are symbolic, aren't they? Hope you have a lovely Easter my dear. x K
