You Smell Good

We had our first snowfall last week,

and I only got a couple pics of it because it was a light snow, but it's always so pretty to see the neighborhood dressed in white.  And a hush occurs every time with the first snow.

Jess gave her brother a gift of imported sea salt and other seasonings because she knows he enjoys cooking.  A plate of ham and Havarti cheese, apples, barbecue rib eye steak, and shrimp with sea salt.

I drove through the coffee shop with my son to get a winter coffee.  He got the black forest mocha, and I ordered the peppermint mocha.  They have such a delightful assortment of specialty coffees that they whip up for every season.

I was shopping one day for Valentine stuff, and when I'm shopping, all my attention goes directly to that.  I asked the cashier for the price of an item, and while she was checking, a distinguished man stood next to me.  I was blocking the isle and said, "oh, go ahead," and he replied, "I'm in no hurry."  As he passed, he said, "You smell good, by the way."  I replied, "me?" (wasn't sure who he was talking to).  He responded, "yea, when I walked past you I got a whiff."  I said, "Oh, thank you."  I thought it was funny because I only use soap and water, I don't wear perfume.  And he probably smelled all the Valentine goodies I was carrying.  I love to get little things for the kids on this special day.  And sometimes for the adults....Jess loves the Sloth.  ; )

Francesca had a Heritage Day at school, and she chose the heritage that came from her grandma, coming all the way from Greece.  She talked a little bit about her heritage, and all the students sang a wonderful song together.

Remember the Panettone that I love during the holidays?  Well, there were a few left at the grocery store, half off.  I like the original one the best, but this one had chocolate inside, and was really good.

A pretty pink sunrise through the tall pines over the weekend.

I wanted to see how filled up the creek was since the rains, so I headed over there one day.  The water is twice as high than it normally is compared to the last few years.  There's three sections brimming with water.

After the snow, we got sunshine, and it has stayed every since. 🌞 Our mountain looks so pretty.

Well, I'm just trying to stay warm here - it's in the 20's early mornings, but then warms up during the day.  I made some blueberry bread and having lots of tea. ☕

I wish you a wonderful week. 🌹🌹🌹

I get so excited when I see snow...which is very rare around here. I enjoy seeing the trees covered in white and the branches of our pine trees dangling in beauty. The two coffee flavors you each selected, sure sounds good. It's 30 degrees here this morning, so a nice hot cup of one of these flavors would be nice right now. I had to laugh a bit when you said the gentleman thought you smelled nice..and your comment was that you only use soap and water. I'm guessing your soap has a really nice scent to it. Just look at Francesca..she looks so confident and pretty standing there. She is really growing up. I will say Sheri...sweet bread is my kind of thing. I enjoy Italian sweet breads with a hot cup of coffee...Hope your week is filled with some warmer temps and plenty of sunshine. Stay warm.. Oh...I forgot, how nice to get sea salt as a gift. I prefer using sea salt over reg. salt. You are blessed to have a son that enjoys cooking...and those shrimp. wow, they looked amazing. Happy, Happy, Monday.

While that is a compliment, it is borderline creepy. I have may have thought that a time or two but have never uttered those thoughts. Love the snow and the fresh blanket of white on the landscape. Thanks for your comment on my font, I increased it in my last post, hopefully it is easier to read!

LOVE the bake! Funny about how you smelled good and he didn't know you had Valentine Goodies! That's a hoot. Love that. ALDI had their VD stuff out and hubby picked me up one of their candles. Fun holiday! Wishing you a groovy rest of the week.

The first picture in your post is very pretty. We also had our first snow of the winter here a few days ago.

Francesca's blue and white outfit fits her theme for this Heritage Day perfectly.

Have a great week!

Love your first picture with the snow. Where did you make it? I love getting half price things after Christmas. I picked up some popcorn tins with 3 flavor pop corn. We don't get snow in Florida and that's why I'm here although as a kid I loved snow. Great photos

Hi Sheri, Oh I loved the way you described the snowfall, the hush that happens, I love that about the snowfall too.
I loved all the photos today.
Winter Teatime made me smile, put the kettle on. :-)
I love the heritage day. :-) The photos are so fun of the girls.
And can you believe I have never had Panettone. ;-)

Hi Sheri! Pretty pictures of the snow. No snow here so far, and I'll be surprised if I get any. It's rare we get snow where I live. I love what Jess gave your son for Christmas! I love specialty sea salts and seasonings. Sounds like the perfect gift to me. As far as what the guy said to you in the shop, it sounds like he was being nice and wanted to give you a compliment, in my opinion. You did the right thing by saying thank you and moving on. I love Valentine's Day and have already been looking around at gift ideas. I've loved this holiday since I was a little girl. I mean, what's not to love about flowers and chocolate! Cute pictures of your granddaughters! I hope you have a lovely week!

I really love the First Snow Fall photo. Have to admit I'm glad we don't have any here though. I would hate to drive in it, so I will admire it from afar and enjoy some of that tasty coffee and delicious looking sweet bread. That is a downfall of mine..(:0)
Havarti is one of my favorite cheeses ... now I wish I had some.
Enjoy your week and stay Sweet Smelling ...

The peppermint pretzel mocha coffee looks to be so good! Francesca is so pretty, and I love her outfit. The mountain is looking beautiful. I have not heard of chocolate Panettone, but we did buy some chocolate babka.
