It was so fun decorating my hutch this past week, as I got to spruce it up for Valentine's Day, which is a favorite holiday of mine. I love the cubbies on this hutch because we have many small treasures we have collected and often wonder where to put them when we decorate our homes. The small drawers are nice for chocolate and cards, and I put some decorative boxes in the cupboard below that contain things inside that are special to me. I put out the music box that Mia gave me also, just because it plays a song of love.
I found this cute pink house (birdhouse) this year,
and the Nutcracker I found last year at Home Goods.
I've had these Love blocks forever.
And it's always a must to put those chalky conversation hearts out.
Last week, I showed you the scones I made that were so Yummy. Well, it was not an orange icing, but a lemon glaze, and I just picked the packages up at the grocery store. They really are good, you should try them. *I bought two packs at Grocery Outlet, but I think you can get them at World Market as well.
I came across this quote the other day and loved it because we all have our own story to tell.
"Go back to where you started or as far back as you can, examine all of it, travel your road again and tell the truth about it. Sing or shout or testify or keep it to yourself: But know whenst you came."
~James Baldwin
So strange....I had a dream Friday night, and I was looking out my window and the scene was blurry, but could see two big animals on my lawn. That next morning, I looked out my laundry room window and saw two deer. They were just there for a few moments, and then trotted off to the woods behind my house.
Jess loves the flamingo, so when I saw this box of chocolates, I couldn't resist.
Our Francesca chipped her tooth last week, and we were all pretty concerned about it because it was her adult tooth, but the amazing things they can do with dentistry these days comforted us. She was a brave little girl at the dentist office while the skilled workers repaired her chip, and they did a great job on it. Uncle b. sent her a couple plush dinosaurs to put a smile on her face. 😊
When I got my new hutch, I gave my old bookshelf to my neighbor, Lisa. I bought it several years ago at Target, but my house is small and no extra room for it. She came over to get it, and loved it, and we had a nice visit. Around these parts, it's all about helping others, and I don't recall having such good neighbors than the ones I have next door and across the street.
I've been thinking of some of my blog friends in the different states who had storms coming through with snow and ice over the weekend. California is mild right now, but we are supposed to get a mix of rain and snow in February. It is one of our coldest months here, so I best be prepared.

Hi Sheri! What a great post to read on a Monday morning. Guess what? Deer outside our yard/woods this weekend and I managed to snag a photo. So fun.
Have you been to Aldi? There's the cutest little mushroom Valentine potter with plug at the bottom. Will be part of my banner soon. So fun.
Sounds like she was brave about the tooth and that's a wonderful thing to read. Also love that you gave the hutch away and have wonderful people in your area.
That's the best!
Hi Sher!
The hutch looks so cute. Valentines Day is a favorite of mine too. Our anniversary is the 13th. So we get to celebrate two days. I am so glad the chipped tooth was repaired and she is doing well. 😁 I have always wanted to make scones. I bought some pastry dough to try and make pizza sticks. I will post them when I get them made. I hope you have a great week.
I love ❤️ this so much
Good morning Sheri from Icy East Texas... Love the quote. I'm saving it for my journal. Also love your new hutch. Look at you go..you have it decorated so cute and the red and pinks against the white shelf just makes everything pop with excitement. Your dream!! how odd that when you woke up there would be 2 deer standing there. Perhaps the deer were there to show you inner peace. Scones..I have always enjoyed scones of all kinds. I tend to lean more towards blueberry scones but they all are so good. Enjoy your California sunshine...sending warm hugs..
Hello! I absolutely love your Valentine touches on your beautiful hutch! Ech one is perfectly placed and oh so sweet. I also set out my Valentine's Day decorations this weekend. Just a touch to brighten up the winter. I am glad the sweet little one's tooth is fixed for her. And I hope you have a LOVE-ly day!
Your Valentine's Day decorations look very pretty. The pink house is great, I'm glad you bought it, it fits perfectly in your new hutch.
I wish you a wonderful week ahead.
Chipped tooth, I hope the repair isn’t bonding because every tooth I had bonded, broke the tooth worse. Those teeth weren’t strong enough snd broke off at the bonding edge.
Cute hutch
I really like that white hutch. Its perfect for your Valentines do-dads and will be awesome for all of the other seasonal events coming this year.
I may actually get inspired to do a few things Valentine-y this year too, now that Dave and I seem to be back among the human race again. (:0)
In regards to your comments and questions on my blog... I don't think I have been to that antique store in Loomis, or maybe it isn't there any longer. I think we have to scope it out and the pastry shop too. We haven't even been to High Hand nursery in such a long time. Maybe a fun day outing and photo shoot will be on the calendar soon.
Have a great week.
Sue
Hi,
Our Sam chipped his adult tooth when he was 16. You are right, today we have such good dentists with such skill. You would never know Sam had chipped his tooth.
I love your hutch and how you decorated it for Valentine's Day.

Hi Sheri! We did get some snow and sleet over the weekend. Most businesses are closed today. It's supposed to be 12 degrees in the morning, but it will get above freezing by the afternoon - thank goodness. I'm not a fan of cold weather or snow. I love your new hutch! You've decorated it so pretty for Valentin's Day! I love pink and red together! I picked up the cutest felt pink-and-red heart-shaped wreath from Target recently. It's hanging on our kitchen pantry door. I love how it brightens up the space and adds a sweet, festive touch. I'm so happy to hear Francesca's tooth has been repaired. She looks so cute and happy in the photo! I hope you have a lovely week!
I really love what you did with the hutch. Everything looks like it really belongs there. I am hoping you keep using it for seasonal decor. The pink house is adorable!!
I've been so looking forard to this post and your big reveal and it does not disappoint! I love every sweet detail. It's perfect in your home and even more so decked out for Valentine's Day!
That hutch is coming together beautifully. H chipped two of his front teeth this year when some kid fell on him. The dentist did a marvelous job.. it looks as if nothing ever happened.
Beautiful photos, dear Sheri ❤️
I am doing well, thank God, still waiting for the rest of the tests. I appreciate your prayers and concern, thank you so much 😊 God bless you 🙏 💖
Your hutch looks darling, Sheri, with all your pretty things. I love the birdhouse and nutcracker, well, all of it, actually! :) So nice of you to give your bookshelf to your neighbor. It's wonderful to have friendly neighbors to look out for one another.
The scones sound yummy, I will have to look for them.
Glad that Francesca was able to get her tooth fixed! It's scary when that happens. My son chipped both his front teeth when he was about 8, falling off his bike, but you can't even tell. I remember being so worried about how it would turn out.
Amazing about your dream and then waking up to see the deer. I was afraid I was going to read that there were bears!
I had a dream the other night that I went to Cosco and there were the prettiest summer dresses and I bought them all! Lol! If only...
I love the quotes. "But know whenst you came." So true.
Your teacup is very pretty.
Hope that you have a lovely week, my friend. Hugs x K
Oh Sheri, I LOVE the hutch. It is a perfect piece for your home. You decorated it so lovely. So glad the chipped tooth was repaired. I'd like to try that scone mix. I usually do them by scratch. Hope your week is blessed to the max. Hugs. Susan
Dear Sheri, I hope that Francesca has recovered well from the chipped tooth.
In response to your question, I don't know who the dog belonged to. It was a beautiful dog, though.
Thank you so much for watching the movie, "Panic in the Skies", I am so glad you enjoyed it.
Your hutch is darling.
Yes the storm came through 18 inches of snow and crzy cold. The deer have been on our yard I feel bad for them in this deep snow.
Cathy
Enjoy that beautiful new white hutch. You decorated it so nicely. love all your Valentine decorations.
I love your new hutch. It is hard to tell how big it is. Does it stand on the floor and go up? You sure do have it decorated so beautifully - just the perfect number of decorations. I love the pink nutcracker and the pink bird house. I am glad Francesca's tooth will be okay. The dentists can do a lot these days. I have not seen sticky fingers - interesting. I think it is a good idea to know where you came from so you will know where you are going!
Love the hutch and all the decorations! A lovely reveal!
Stay warm!
hugs
Donna
Oh my, look at you! All decked out for Valentines Day! The hutch is cute and the white, really makes, any holiday decoration pop. I have a French proverbial white dresser and hutch that we girls used to have in our bedrooms. ( I never did but never had that) anyway, years ago a friend picked one piece up at a thrift store, hoping to refinish it, never did and gave it to me. It's in my laundry room. Of course I haven't refinished it yet but I'd like to. We'll see. I have so many things I want to do. It would look cute displayed but it doesn't match the rest if the house decor. Hmm, maybe I will try this summer.
The pink birdhouse is so cute. I was always afraid my boys would knock out their teeth, the way they played. Modern dentistry now is amazing. Glad Francesca's tooth was spared. I hope to get some Valentine decor out along with Chinese new year's little red envelopes. We hope to to to the Chinese temple in Weaverville, later in February. Having grown up in San Francisco, Chinese New Year was big.
Sorry I didn't get over here on Monday but seemed time kept getting away from me. Sweet post, Sheri.

Oh bless her heart! I am so glad the dentist could fix it! I love your pretty hutch and the lovely Valentines decorations. The nutcracker is too cute! I would love to find the scones but I doubt we have those around here. I may look online because they I love gingerbread. Have a great weekend, and stay warm!
I hope you can keep good health during this stormy time.
Sheri your hutch is just lovely and I so enjoyed seeing all your special things displayed. I can see how much fun you are going to have decorating for every holiday...do you have something green for St Patrick's Day? That is just around the corner and hopefully we will be seeing many signs of spring by then. Glad to read that they were able to fix Francesca's tooth. It is amazing what the dentist can do today. So happy to read that you were not bothered by the massive winter storm. Do you sometimes get a foot of snow where you live? Well take care friend...we were 16 below zero this morning...hoping to see 10 today. If you have any extra warm weather - please send it my way. (LOL) Hugs
yes, one should prepare for all possible troubles,
and I would like to have tea and talk to you a little about nice things
Happy February dear Sheri! Isn't it fun decorating for Valentine's Day! So sorry your precious Francesca had a chip in her tooth, but thankful it was easily repaired! Chocolates are always such a special treat! Good neighbors are such a blessing, and we are blessed here too! Much to be thankful for! Many blessings to you dear friend!
The hutch looks so sweet! I bet you smile every time you look at it. Happy February.
