We had a nice Thanksgiving. My son roasted the turkey, and I think it was the moistest one yet. He covered it with olive oil, so the edges were crisp. We also had our usual sides; mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, baked yams with marshmallows, cranberries, rolls and butter, and sparkling cider. There's always pumpkin pie and whipped cream too. I love Thanksgiving dinner, but as I get older, I can't have too many leftovers, as the food is rich.
My brother-in-law stopped by a couple days before and brought me some goodies. My sister-in-law bought 3 turkeys this year, so he offered me one, but I had already bought mine. He gave me a few goodies after he went to the grocery store, and I always appreciate that. He also sent me some homemade refried beans with bacon he made, which were spicy and delicious. I made him a cup of coffee with a piece of pistachio loaf, and we had a nice visit. He just got back from a trip to Colorado and the south, and sent me a few pics of his journey passing through all the states.
Here's a few pics from my week. Jess bought some expensive, but soft and furry, socks from Downtown Disney with the birthday money I gave her. Nel made an Autumn spice cake with cream cheese frosting. I bought a sweater in black and white at K's Boutique. I've always loved black and white fashion, and used to shop at White House Black Market in my hometown. So, this sweater really caught my eye, and will keep me warm during the winter months. And sometimes you just have to have a cheeseburger, fries, and a coke. ; )
I'm so glad that all my kids are confident and skilled in the kitchen. They whip up so many wonderful dishes, and learn from each other. It pleases this mama very much.
I wanted to show you an old music box that I have. I bought it when my son was little, and he used to wear blue pajamas like this, so it's special to me. I was wondering if I should keep it, cause the music doesn't play any more, but it's about 30 years old, so it will stay with me....and I will eventually find someone to fix the music key.
My calendar page for December, with the word Wonder. 😮
The Christmas season is here! Have a merry and bright week!

Such delightful photos!
Everything looks delicious and your Thanksgiving table beautiful.Nice of your brother-in law to bring you goodies. I love the pic of the girls with their large bows in their hair.
The table setting for Thanksgiving looks wonderful, everything is arranged so attractively.
Your new black and white sweater is very pretty, enjoy your new piece!
I wish you a nice first week in December.
Your photos were outstanding. Your daughters learned from the best and the traditions continue! Sweet photo of your beautiful granddaughters. Your son's turkey looks delicious - I like a crispy skin as well. I like black and white as well - in my clothing as well as in my decor - with pops of color depending on the season. Very minimal. I wouldn't get rid of that music box! No way no how! Just use it as you would any figurine until you can get it fixed. Perhaps a jeweler can fix it.
Another beautiful post, Sheri. Enjoy this first week of advent! God bless.
Love all the photos
Happy Thanksgiving Leftovers!
The sweater is gorgeous.
You might find a fix for the music box on Youtube. It is amazing the how-to videos there.
There is so much here to totally love!!! The turkey is the most beautiful I have ever seen. I wear these kinds of socks around the house! They have sticky pads on the bottom. All the food looks so delicious. I love your sweater, the way it flares out just a little bit at the bottom. The Colorado photos are beautiful and look so professional. I think I can even see a bit of the moon in the first one. Your calendar is so cute!
I love seeing your girls cooking together, I love their matching aprons.
All the food photos make me hungry for Thanksgiving all over again.
Happy December my dear friend.
Carla
I love everything about this post. The meals look divine and of course the photos with family are always a winner with me.
Your Christmas Decorations are so pretty too.
Happy First Day of December.

Sheri....that turkey looks super delicious...Your son did a great job. Colorado offers so much beauty and these photos show it. You truly have a beautiful family and I can feel the love as it radiates through your words. Those socks!! I need them today. It is finally cold here today. They are so cute... It's the old things like this music box that brings back so many precious memories year after year. So very special!! Love all the food photos and now I am hungry. I ate a half bowl of soup for lunch, but after seeing all of this goodness, my tummy is talking to me. Enjoy this much calmer than last week WEEK.
Your little girls are so lovely! Your foods look delicious. One thing about our T-giving is that we are in our 70s and are excused from making the baked goodies of my past years. Sad and yet resigned.
I was looking closely at the two girls - I thought for a minute it was the same girl - a mirrored image. They had the same hair style and everything. They are beautiful.
Your food looked so good - they turkey especially. The sweet potatoes - pumpkin pie. Did you and your son cook together?
Nice your BIL stopped by and brought you some goodies. I love you black and white sweater. The girls' socks were so cute too!
I am sorry about the music box - but I bet a jewelry store could fix it.
Love, sandie
Hello, lovely friend! Your Thanksgiving sounds delicious! I enjoyed your photos of the season so far around your world. Have a cozy evening!
Hi Sheri,
Your dinner sounds delicious! I love the day and eat to much and send the rest home with the kids! It is nice when the kids can cook too! My daughter is a great cook and baker!
I got all my Christmas decor up and am enjoying the lights! Have a wonderful week Sheri!
It sounds like it was a delightful celebration and week. All the food looks so very, very yummy. Enjoy now preparing for the Christmas season.
Your Thanksgiving sounds perfect.
The turkey and all the sides make me hungry just reading it. 😋
I love that your kids are confident in the kitchen and that you all enjoy these little family moments, like the coffee with your brother-in-law.
Wishing you a merry and bright start to the Christmas season, Sheri 🌹
Having delicious dishes in the good health with good persons is one of the happiest times.
So much goodness. Love to you.
Yummy food and stunning photos. Happy Belated Thanksgiving! Blessings dear Sheri.
Hi Sheri - saw Klaus awhile back and enjoyed it a great deal. LOVE those socks! I can't drink that creamer but I love peppermint mocha. I was making one yesterday and couldn't get my peppermint open so I used orange extract and you know what? Orange mocha hot chocolate was gooooooooood. Wishing you a wonderful rest of the holiday season. It sure whooshes past me, I'll say that.
I had such fun reading about your Thanksgiving Sheri and seeing all these wonderful photos, especially the ones of your family. I will have to try your son’s method of cooking the turkey, though I didn’t have to cook this year as we were invited out. The music box was very special with its memories of when he was little no doubt, and your decorations are a delight. Your whole meal sounded delicious and how very nice that your brother-in-law stopped by with more goodies. Sounds like a very thoughtful b-in-l. I like black and white too and always thought it an elegant combination. Those socks are very cute! Well, all these yummy food photos are sending me to the kitchen as it’s just about dinner time. Thank you for another lovely read and I wish you a very happy December!
Your Thanksgiving table is pretty and the food all looks yummy. Sometimes I wish I could go back to family around the table but there are too many of us and I have to do it buffet style. Your brother in law is very sweet to bring you homemade beans! Yumm! I love the sweater- I rarely find black/white clothing, but I do like how sharp it looks. I'm full swing into Christmas and it sounds like you are there also. Have a great rest of the week!
