Christmas Joy At Nel's House

Good Morning, and happy Thanksgiving week!

Driving down the highway from my house, I see only trees along the road - great big, tall ones such as pine or fir.  When you get around this area, you see green, orange, brown, blue, and white everywhere you go.  It's a beautiful flow of nature~ sunlight, clouds, and blue skies.  Frosty snow covers the mountain, the green trees caress the orange ones, and the sun shines on it all in the afternoon warmth.

I've always wanted to live in the mountains, so when I saw this candle, I just had to take it home with me.  The scent of pine fills my house, and gives off a warm glow.

Hidden behind wires and roofs, Mount Shasta is still a beautiful sight.

I saw two deer on my lawn, and one of them was a Buck!  I never see the Bucks roaming around here, only the Does, so I was thrilled.

I thought this would be a fun cake to make!

Here's a few pics of Christmas joy around Nel's house.  She used a lot of red this year, which I love.  Like me, she has a few new things to go along with the old.  From the old is a cute pipe smoking Santa and a cottage from the North Pole that opens up to a scene.  She grew up with these pieces, and has had them in her home ever since.  She is getting quite a collection of Nutcrackers, and some of them actually came from the Nutcracker productions that she has seen through the years.

Speaking of Nutcrackers.....Jess is an elementary school teacher, and when I saw this elementary teacher Nutcracker at Hobby Lobby, I just knew I had to get it.  She can put it on her desk. 📚📓📏📎✂

I so love this picture of Mia on the grass with the bed of dandelions.

Hope your turkey and sides are yummy.  I'm thankful for all of you.  We are always there for each other here, listening, caring, supporting, loving, walking side by side.

😍 There's our mountain all dressed for the season!

The only new item I have bought new was a simple nativity for my collection. I'm looking forward getting everything out for display this weekend.
What a sweet picture of Mia. Wow, what a find on that school teacher nutcracker. Cute idea and the detail of the books and ruler is too cute. My goodness, a big buck in your front yard - reminds me of my friend in Alaska who captured an adorable picture of a huge moose, right out her picture window, looking back at her - fogging the window from it's nostrils. I have been hearing, that the elk herds have been seen in the lower areas - I wonder what's up with that?
All your decorations are charming. I used to years ago make a cake like that, using colored batter. I bet it was tasty. Well neighbor, enjoy this wondrous season of gratitude and thankfulness.

Sheri, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Sheri - Nel's house looks wonderful and Jess I am sure is going to love that nutcracker teacher - perfect gift. You always seem to find something special in your travels. I bet your part of the world is just beautiful. We do see bucks quite often in our area...especially now that mating season and gun season are in. Have never been able to figure out how someone can kill those beautiful animals. Of course if we did not have hunters we would certainly have too many and they often starve to death in the winter. Such is life. I hope Sheri you have a beautiful Thanksgiving. I am so very thankful for our blogging friendship...may God bless us with many more visits. Hugs!

Happy Thanksgiving from a sister Northern Californian. We are in the "lowlands" and I so enjoy seeing your photos of Mt. Shasta and those parading turkeys. They do that parade thing in our yard too.
I love all the nutcrackers and that special one for your daughter. What a wonderful Santa with his pipe and Santa's North Pole House.
Love all the decorating.

The name of the candle is great, Fairytale Wood, it sounds lovely.
Mount Shasta is very picturesque. Snow-covered mountains are always very special.

Nel inherited your talent for decorating, didn't she?

Thanks, Sheri, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving week as well!
