The Waterfalls In Autumn

I have been to the waterfalls in spring and summer, but I have never seen them in Autumn, and Oh, what I was missing.  Nestled in nature, they are surrounded by all the bright changing colors of the season, which makes them even prettier than they are in the summer.  Me and my son took a drive to the falls, which are only 10 minutes away, and it was overcast for a while, but turned into a sunny day.  We went to the lake first, which is right down the road from the falls, and I'll share pictures of that later.  These waterfalls are on California's list of beautiful places to visit.  So, come along while we take a walk and see this wonderful sight that has me in awe every time.  But first, let us drive through the coffee shop to get a Mexican Mocha with a little whipped cream.

The moss on this tree was so thick that it looked like the Grinch's arms.💚

And for an extra treat, when we showed up at the house, the deer were in my yard and roaming the neighborhood.

Back at Nel's house, Mia had a special time making caramel apples with Nel.  Nel sent me a little note telling me how much she used to love when I made these for the kids growing up during the Fall season. 🍏  I'm pleased that my daughters are keeping the traditions alive and having so much fun with them in their own way.

I have to share a few more pics of the changing trees in town, cause the colors are brilliant.  And I know just where to go to see them.  ; )

We had a big wind Saturday, and lots of rain on Sunday.  Leaves were blowing everywhere.🍂🍂🍂

So, it was a nice time to stay inside and have a comforting meal of homemade stew,

and Duncan Hines Dolly Parton's chocolate cake and vanilla frosting.  Have you ever tried her cake mixes? - they are so moist and good!

Do you know what's also nice to do on a rainy day?  Go through old photos and remember.  Now, I was just in my early twenties when I was raising my daughters.  Didn't have a lot of time for partying or socializing like many girls my age, but looking back, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

my son

And one of my favorite pictures is this one of the girls playing in the leaves at grandma's house.

Have a cozy Autumn week.

Our beautiful falls! I haven’t been up there during Autumn either. Once we all drove up on Christmas Day and this was back during the drought and no snow just very cold. Those pictures are gorgeous, Sheri.
You haven’t changed much - still look like you did in your 20’s.
I enjoyed everything in this post this morning. Thanks so much for sharing those photos of our magnificent falls. God bless, Sheri.

Every photo is breathtaking.I can only imagine what it was like to see it in person -- awe inspiring, I think. Loved the caramel apple photos -- what a great idea! And the deer! And the soup looks delicious. I've been going through old pix too. Isn't it a fun walk down memory lane? I loved seeing yours.

Wow, I have no idea where to start - there are so many things to make a comment on.
The waterfalls are so close to your house. They are fantastic. That moss was soooooo green for sure. One of my favorite photos is the three trees in different colors. Nothing as pretty as that. We do not get those red here very much.
Love the deer. Those caramel apples looked great.
The pumpkins look wonderful.
The picture of you with that necklace - cute.
You are beautiful too!
And your food looks delicious as usual.

I read your post yesterday while I was waiting on Sam. Some reason, I wasn't able to comment while using my phone. I love the photo of Mia looking at her goodies. She has such a happy, surprised look on her face. The apples look so good!! I haven't made caramel apple is forever!! Oh my...those falls!! They are beautiful and so are all the surrounding trees. I would be at those falls ALL the time is I lived near by...just something about the sound of the falls brings so much peace. Happy Tuesday Sheri...I enjoyed all of the family photos...

The falls look incredible Sheri, as do your changing leaves, such vibrant colors, and those deer. Loved the look of your soup and that yummy chocolate cake. I didn’t know Dolly Parton has a cake mix. I will have to put one on my list next time and look for it. Very special photos of you with your daughters and of your son when they were young. And the ones of Mel and Mia making the caramel apples, carrying on those traditions. Thank you for another sweet post, always love to read them.

So many things to love about this post. First, I love the old pictures. I bet they bring back many happy memories. Second, love the fact that your daughter is carrying on the tradition of making caramel apples. And lastly, that waterfall! While they are beautiful throughout the year, they are just spectacular with the fall foliage.

I enjoyed all of your photos but I had to pause and just take in the beauty of those photos of the waterfalls in the fall surroundings- so so beautiful. How fan to make the caramel apples-

They say that you remember important things even without photos. I disagree with that. I love looking at photos and immersing myself in the moments when taking photos. The autumn trees are so beautiful, they look golden when the sun hits them. And we are blessed with 4 seasons. Autumn and winter are those seasons that you connect with your soul and family.
