Last week I showed you what we did at Jess' house when I visited, and this week, I'll share my time at Nel's house. Mia has a new bunk bed, and while I was there, I slept on the bottom bunk. We didn't go to sleep right away, and instead talked for a long time - it was like having a sleepover with her. She is into stuffies right now, so we went to this particular toy store in the village, and I bought her a stuffed frog in a mint color. We got our usual blueberry cream cheese danishes one morning, and also visited a new bakery. I ordered a cup of coffee and an almond croissant. It's such a quaint bakery with cool light fixtures, large mirrors, a French atmosphere, and blue cushioned chairs to sit and stay for a while. Nel usually buys flowers for her kitchen table, but this time she made a cute arrangement with Fall colors. She has the Disney Villains Cookbook, and she tries to make some of the recipes in it now and then. One night she made 'Captain Hook's Stuffed Shells,' and it was delicious. Another night we had grandma's famous enchiladas. I'm so glad she keeps this recipe alive and makes them from time to time. We had them for breakfast the next morning, and she placed a fried egg on top. While looking around at all the unique things in her house, I noticed a picture that Mia drew on the fridge. It is so very special. Mia had a "Kona Ice" 🍧 day at her school, and we all stood in line for a very long time so she could get that rainbow shaved ice treat. I talked with some of her friends, and it was a fun event. Another day, me and Nel got a Starbuck's coffee in the afternoon, and took Mia over to the ice cream shop to get a treat. She picked a mint chocolate chip cone. We went to our favorite kitchen shop at the village, and right when we walked in, the song "brown eyed girl" came on. I've always loved that song, and it was such a fun surprise for three brown-eyed girls that day. Me and Nel watched a movie while Renecke entertained Mia upstairs. I appreciated that so much, cause it was a long movie, and I got to spend some time with my Nel. Her and Renecke had a little date night, while Mia and I watched the movie, Snow White, and feasted on In-N-Out Cheeseburgers, fries, and cokes. I thought it was so funny that she likes animal style too. It was soooo good.
Good times, sweet memories.

Sheri, your writing of the time you spent with Nell and Mia fully describes a fabulous visit full of love. Memories rushed back for me when you talked about the enchiladas and the egg on top. Sam's grandmother lived in El Paso, Tx and this is the way they served enchiladas. I remember them all too well. Mia is really growing up and how sweet that she is into the stuffed animals. The frog is so cute. Family, movies, food, sleep over and sharing time with Mia, and all the memories made...what a huge Blessing. Love all the pictures and your beautiful family..
Dear Sheri - you made some beautiful memories with your two girls. The last photo is extra special. Sounds like you ate well...had lots of fun and spent quality time with Mia and Nel. That Disney cookbook looks like it would hold some very special recipes for kids and adults as well. Take care and thank you always for your faithful visits. Hugs!
Sounds wonderful.. those bedtime conversations with Mia will be those she will remember forever..
Three brown eyes girls .. that is so sweet. :-)
I think the Disney cookbook would be fun to check out. Unique recipes and fun to play along with the Disney stories too.
I enjoyed all the fun you had with your family, thank you for sharing.
Love, Carla
Un sitio muy acogedor para disfrutar del lugar con toda comodidad.
Un abrazo.
Her cone matches the new frog! and I love the drawing, especially those crowns. And how cool that all her stuffies are in this hammock! Love the atmospheric pics, as well.
All your girls big and small will remember you and your visits. That you took time for them and listened and talked. That's what everyone wants really.
So, it was Nel's turn. Love Mia's new stuffed animal and the stuffed animal netting.
Danishes, Starbucks, nice times.
Love this kitchen is for dancing.
Nice you and Nel could watch a movie.
Three brown eyed girls - so fun.
The photos of you are beautiful, I especially like the one of you and Mia. The cookbook is really great, the dish must have tasted delicious.
I wish you a nice new week
OH! Those girls are just beautiful. I miss being around the blogging world like I once was-and miss seeing the kids and projects, etc. You are so lucky to spend time with your sweet girls. They grow up way too fast! Glad you were able to do so many things and still found time for a movie.
Blessings to you! xo Diana
ps-Out of 17 grandkids I only have one brown eyed child and none in our family except for my son's wife. I love those brown eyes!
There was so much I loved here -- Time with Nel and Mia, coffee and treats, Disney and more. But my favorite thing was the sleepovers and the long, lovely talks. That is unforgettable and special. I loved every single photo!
What a sweet post, Sheri, and a slumber party with Mia. Now that's special. The food photos sure caught my eye. and who doesn't enjoy In and Out? So animal style runs in the family? :-D Who knew?
What a unique cookbook that is. I would place it in my already crowded cookbook pantry if I had little ones around. I'm so happy you can have these one-on-one visits with your girls and your granddaughters - a MUST when you don't live nearby.
I'm sorry I missed this in my feed. It's been hectic, but in a good way. The first couple of weeks take some adjustment to my routine. Well, down here it looks like summer again... 94 today and 97 tomorrow. However, the forecast does indicate cooler temperatures and possibly a little moisture.
I hope you have a blessed week! IT sure goes by fast, doesn't it? Blink, and it's gone.
How very special to have this time with your girls. Oh a sleep over would be sooooo fun. Love almond croissants. Rainbow shaved ice would be the best.
Dear Sheri, your photos are beautiful! It looks like a wonderful and fun time spent! I love children's art! The food looks great as well! Thank you so much for sharing, I really appreciate the time you took to take and upload these photos to share! :)

Oh what fun! And Mia is a cutie pie. Your girls are so sweet to make time for you to visit with them. My daughter is so busy I hardly ever get to see her.
Sweet memories indeed, Sheri. So much fun. I love the walkway up to their home.
What special times, creating memories, showing love.... I am sure she will always remember the time that you slept on the bottom bunk.
That sounds so special! 💕 Recipes like those carry so many memories, and it’s wonderful that she keeps them alive. Captain Hook’s Stuffed Shells and grandma’s enchiladas both sound absolutely delicious! 😋✨

Sheri, what lovely pictures. I am so glad you had a wonderful visit. The food looks and sounds delightful. I love icecream. Too bad I can't eat it everyday. Mint chip is my favorite. Stuffies seem to be Klaras favorite too. I also enjoy the kids drawings. I save them all. Have a great week!
Looks like a most precious time with your sweet family. I looked at each and loved one, especially of those with big smiles :) Thank you for sharing them all Sheri. Have a wonderful week!
