Nearby Lake

My two brother-in-laws moved up this way to live with my sister-in-law and help her out with her big ranch home.  A couple weeks ago, my brother-in-law came into town to run errands and he stopped by for a visit.  I have been wanting to see a nearby lake that I was told about, so we drove over there, along with my son, to see some views of the lake.

We got some lunch first, and headed on over there.  They got cheeseburgers and I ordered fish and chips.  Everything was so good.

We ate on one of the benches overlooking the lake.

There are three picnic benches there, and they were all covered with engraved names and sayings.  I smiled at some of them, as they were the names of loved ones in my own family.

And a cute bench.

It was a lovely time at the lake, and I'm so thankful to have family living close by now.

I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but I got a few Christmas goodies while out shopping that I couldn't resist.....a Christmas gnome kitchen towel, a glittery bird, and a chocolate coffee bar.  When I got in my car the other morning, it was 40 degrees.  It's already so cold here, and I warmed up with my favorite hot chocolate.

I do love the Christmas season, but I'm still savoring Autumn with my new cinnamon candle.

Have a good October week.

I think it is wonderful to live by family. That is important. And how far are you from the lake - I love it. Looks peaceful.
I also like the items you bought - especially the gnome towel. You are getting ready for Christmas still loving autumn!
It is getting cooler here too. Love it.

I love your bird! Where did you get these things, because now I want them! How great that you have family around now. This lake is gorgeous! It looks like beach sand on the shore, too. Everything looks so blue, clean, and gorgeous. And I don't see a bit of trash anywhere. The picnic tables are kind of like like a history of this place. The hamburger looks awesome!

I so would love to meet you at the lake, if I lived near. That looks like a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the view with a friend. I love the smell of cinnamon...and love that pumpkin.

I love that picnic area.

Last night we had rain and today has been cold - 50’s all day. Rain in the forecast! I’m thrilled.

Love all your photos - happy that you have family around. The only family I have now are my sons, a daughter-in-law and a stepdaughter. I’m thrilled we have them so close to us.

God bless and Happy Fall.

Will you visit the ranch? If you do, be sure to take lots of photos.
I love all your Christmas finds. I hope to find a towel like that.

Good morning Sheri dear!

Isn't it nice to have lakes around? When one can't be near the ocean, lakes will do just fine. How lovely that you are having more family members moving closer to you!

It sounds COLD already for you; it's not even cold here yet! We have enjoyed for the last few days, early morning walks that start off just a bit cool but nothing that requires a hat. The afternoons literally are warm, requiring no jackets and even shorts but the colors? Spectacular!

As always, absolutely beautiful photos Sheri. Family is everything, and how nice to have the outing to the lake with your brother in law. I love that little Christmas bird, I'd entice him to fly to me :) And the white pumpkin is always beautiful to behold.

We have a small lake nearby which is lovely like this one is. There are picnic benches, and when there are no people around it is quite serene and peaceful. We enjoy watching the ducks, and especially at this time of year the change of the leaves. We take a lunch too, just like you did. It is always a wonderful day.

Your family strikes me as being very supportive of each other and that is just wonderful. It will be so nice to have all fairly close. I loved your little bird and seeing all the pretty scenery. The carving of names was especially sweet.

It is truly beautiful out there and I enjoyed the lake as well as all your other photos. Lovely to spend time with your family in such a pretty setting. Fun purchases! I love Autumn but enjoy everything about Christmas also. I have been buying a few new ornaments for our tree, and gifts for others in the family. Thanks for another great post :)

The lake is absolutely beautiful! I'm glad your enjoying Fall Sheri! I usually drink Swiss Miss, but I had a cup of Ghirardelli Hot Chocolate last night when I watched You, Me, and the Christmas Trees on Hallmark.

Love your pics, the lake looks so inviting
and serene. Oh I love the bench with inscriptions,
reminded me of the bench in 'Notting Hill' movie.
You've just reminded me that Christmas is just
around the corner.

Enjoy your weekend Sheri and God bless you always.
