There's no Starbuck's here in the mountains where I live, but there is a little coffee shop that I go to often. They have specialty drinks, so yesterday me and my son drove through, and I was hoping they would have a pumpkin coffee. They did! I had my first pumpkin latte of the season, and it was really good.
I've seen Winter, Spring, and Summer since I moved here, and now it's time to see Autumn in the mountains, so come along with me.
I was watching a tv program the other day, and they were showing holiday decor by using pine cones. When they mentioned how much the bag of pine cones were, I smiled because I have a whole front yard filled with them. I've been thinking of gathering a few and doing something crafty with them for Christmas. Any ideas, let me know.

what wonderful pictures of autumn in the mountains. the next best thing to being there. you are surrounded by beauty. glad you got your pumpkin latte. i had my first pumpkin chai of the season. (tea cause i do not drink coffee.) that pan cake looked yummy. and so did the donuts. and so did dinner. the pine cones, and what you decide to craft with them, will definitely be intriguing. look forward to what you come up with.
The colors of autumn are beautiful. Lovely pie. What is it?
Oh my, Entenmenn's pumpkin donuts! Thanks for the tip. lol
Lovely trip for a pumpkin latte. Journaling about autumn feels like another dimension added to the season, like harvesting memories. Lovely photos
I loved seeing the autumn photos! That deer, and that tree! All of the photos evoked such a strong feeling. I love fall! Your dessert has the perfect ratio of icing to cake! Did you have bratswurst for dinner? Brats were always very important for any special dinner!
Oh Sheri, how beautiful. I'm so glad you could spend time with your son -- that's a treat! And enjoying the beauty of your new area in a new season is especially wonderful. I love all the colors, creatures and delicious flavors you showed here. Donuts and spicy cake -- yum. Very fall! I hope this first one in your new home is sublimely happy.
I love autumn. Our leaves are already starting to fall. Beautiful photos.
I'm glad you'll be experiencing autumn in the mountains, Sheri. I'm a mountain girl at heart, born in the Blue Ridge, so I understand its call. As always, your pictures give such a full look at the things in your life you're enjoying. And we certainly have to enjoy every minute of October!
Ah my favorite season no matter where I am at - except maybe at the equator - lol.
I love all your fall sharing's.
So do you journal a lot - I bet you do. What do you journal about?
I loved the cake you made.
The coffee house looks nice.
You are a busy gal!
How wonderful! You have already begun capturing the best the season offers! Food and decor plus Mother Nature! Lovely!
Autumn in the mountains is delightful. Enjoy. All the fall foods and drinks are making me hungry. Hugs my friend.
I'm so glad you are enjoying the mountains. I live in the Blue Ridge mountains and Autumn is my favorite season but all of them can give us so much beauty. Take care. Big Hugs and Love.
Oh my goodness, my friend. Autumn in your part of the world is beautiful! We don't have a Starbucks here, but we do have a Dunkin'. Madison took me to a local coffee shop and the pumpkin spice latte was so much better!!! I love all your photos and am smiling as I think of you enjoying the cozy days in your beautiful world.
wonderful photos! The front of the coffee shop is so pretty. Looks like you've been baking a lot. I have seen pretty bowls just loaded with pinecones, maybe a ribbon around them. Also, some can be natural, and some sprayed gold. You can also get a styrofoam tree shape and make a pinecone Christmas tree.
I bet you will love autumn there! Nice group of photos...
It's hard to believe you've been in your new home for all of those seasons! So glad you found a local coffee shop with your favorite beverage. It looks like a charming spot to enjoy with your son. What a sweet photo of the deer, Sheri! It looks like you were quite close. I think a basket of pinecones look so simple and pretty. So nice you have so many.
I love the fall colors. The cake looks so yummy. I haven't had any fall treats yet. I am looking forward to some. Our leaves are starting to change here. Suppose to have rain this week. I think you need to put the pinecones in a basket with your winter decorations on your porch.
Good morning dear Sheri!
You will have been there an entire year and I hope that you enjoy the fall. It truly is one of the most spectacular times of the year and I hope the colors are vibrant for you!
That deer...how gorgeous.
Hello Dear Sheri...It looks like fall is lovely in the north country, where you are. Very nice photos. Oh, I had apple cider donuts the other day, still warm, and they were absolutely divine. The pumpkin ones you showed must be yummy, too. Now I don't eat donuts too often so the ones I had were a real treat. I hope you will continue to enjoy beautiful autumn every second, before the snows come. Oh! I just saw a blurb somewhere of painting pine cones green, added do-dad beads, etc., and turning them into little Christmas trees! Hugs. Susan
So glad you are enjoying the mountains.
Love the fabulous captures of autumn, Sheri.
Sheri wow it is hard to believe you have been there almost a year. Your fall photos are so gorgeous. We are finally seeing some of those lovely colors here. I know I would enjoy a pumpkin latte. That sounds like a delicious treat. Of course anything pumpkin tastes great. Hope you have a blessed week friend. Hugs!
My children (when they were little) would make turkey's for our Thanksgiving table from pinecones like you have. It's a fun kid project.
I loved seeing your autumn. Nice journal, I recognize the artist.
I enjoyed the Autumn tour.
xx oo
Please share what you create with the pine cones.
Love, Carla
Oh Sheri, how beautiful it all is. The red Autumn tree, just gorgeous. Your cake, a pumpkin latte, the ceramic pumpkin. How I would love to fly over and join you :)
I love the little shops. Always so welcoming and friendly, you feel like a real person , not a number.
I am working on welcoming autumn, not quite there yet. Your pictures do help, just a bit.
You're welcoming autumn in style! I also prefer the little shops to the chains.

Autumn is truly beautiful there! I always collected pine cones in the neighborhood when the kids were little, then we spread Elmer's Glue on waxed paper, rolled the cones, then we rolled them in glitter. Add a yarn hanger and we had Christmas ornaments. We had enough for teachers, grand parents, friends, ourselves.... Great fun!
That cake looks sooo good!
Adorable photos,my sweet friend. God bless you.
That coffee shop looks so nice! I wish to visit more coffee shops like that. Have a great month! :)

I love seeing the deer and beautiful trees there! And I love that pretty book...maybe a journal? How nice! I pick up pinecones and just put them in a big basket. Sometimes they have bugs inside them though! lol I keep them in the garage for a few days before I bring them inside. Happy Fall!
Hello Dear Sheri,
This has been such a strange year for us all and yet it has gone by quite quickly. This is quite something that you have already gone through three seasons and are about to embark upon Winter. It will be so beautiful!
What a glorious treat to get to spend time with your son and enjoy this pretty mountain town and coffee too.
I am definitely imagining all of the glorious crafty goodness you can create with those pinecones.
The grandchildren would love making turkeys out of them by adding feathers and felt pompoms. Birdfeeders with peanut butter and birdseed is another hit for little hands.
Enjoy your weekend,
Jemma
I am glad to know you enjoyed a beautiful day. I will try to have a cup of pumpkin coffee.
Great that you've spent time with your son,
sons are precious to us mothers and little time spent with them
is treasured forever. I hope you get to talk a lot in that coffee shop
with your pumpkin latte.
Oh I love how you tell stories by the pics you took and share.
I will be looking forward to see what craft you can do with those pine cones.

ooooh those little mom and pop coffee shops, trendy and fun, they are the best!! when i use jarred sauce, i use raos, it's very good, yours sounds good too!!
i have not used pinecones lately for any craft projects. perhaps you could google it to get some ideas!!
Have you seen bleached pinecones? They are great! Such a different look. Takes a couple of steps. You can look them up on Pinterest! So lucky to live in the mountains. I am originally from So. Calif. But live in the Ozarks now.
