Homemade Christmas

Since I may be moving soon, I didn't want to get the ornaments out this year, so I thought I'd just decorate my tree with the hand made ornaments that my children made me when they were little.  I keep them in this box, which I found recently while out shopping.

wooden girl and macaroni angel
from Jess.

beaded candy cane

trees with glitter

crocheted Santa from Jess

ornament with puzzle pieces

paper mache angel from my son

 a felt Santa from Nel

and a golden angel for the top

Bohemian babies at Thanksgiving.

I had a gift card from Home Goods that my best friend gave me awhile ago, and I finally got to use it.  I found this English Breakfast tea with Prince Harry and Meghan on the front.  It's really tasty, and what goes better with tea than homemade Toll House chocolate chip cookies?

They were just right for a rainy day.

I will always treasure my homemade ornaments, because they were made by special little hands.
~one Christmas long ago.

Are you in the Christmas spirit yet?

That is the MOST 1980's photo I have ever seen. Legwarmers! Headbands!

Great photos. :) I cherish the memories too.

I love everything about this post, Sheri. The ornaments are just adorable. And so special. Just think -- in another year or two, you may have new additions from Francesca and Mia. I think I missed something about moving. Hmmm. This sounds interesting!

So you have decided to move?

You know those handmade ornaments are priceless. I love them - they really made nice ones. I think they are perfect and your tree too.

I want one of those cookies.

You are a beautiful gal there -

Also your granddaughter has one of those scarfs around her neck - she looks cute.

So do you think Andrew and his brother - are having troulbes - the Royals?

The cookies look yummy! I'll be right over!

Your made-with-love ornaments are so cute and precious. I have many like that myself. We haven't been putting up a tree for the last few years, so I'm not using them. I may need to get a tiny table-top tree for the sole purpose of displaying all the treasured ornaments my kids made.

Blessings,

Dear Sheri,

So lovely to see your preparations for Christmas and all the sweet hand made treasures, made with love.
Your little grand-daughter is so very cute and grown up.
Loved seeing all your photos, of you and the family. thanks for sharing and remember the days of leg warmers and it really did not seem that long ago.
Happy December dear friend

How sweet that you kept all those homemade decorations. I still have ornaments that my Mom crocheted on my tree. I have a few things that my daughters made that I always put out also.

Those are the best type of ornaments...what precious memories they hold. I am trying to get in the Christmas spirit! Tomorrow is a dr's appt and nothing to dread other than I just dread it. It is for Roger and like I say, nothing to dread. But I dread it anyway, it is an hour's drive when it is an easy drive, can be longer depending on traffic and other drivers.

I think the most cherished ornaments are the ones made by children. Your children made lovely ones. I really like the special box you found to store them in. I hope your move finds you closer to your grandgirlies, Sheri. Have fun preparing for Christmas.

Those ornaments that your children made are so special and adorable. It's a lovely idea that you have just those on your tree, I think it's a very special thing to do. I have kept all the ornaments that my daughter made when she was little - it's just priceless.
I'm not in the Christmas spirit at all. I grew up in a country with Christmas magic in medieval towns with lovely Christmas markets, a silence full of expectant joy, free classical Christmas concerts - I miss all of that here.

Dearest Sheri, how beautiful you look in that last photo! And how perfect are your ornaments because as I grow older, I realize that of all the gifts at Christmas time, memories are the most sparkling, the most beautiful and the most delicate of all ornaments. You have hung them well.

May 2020 bring you hope and a new exciting ADVENTURE!!!!!!!

Sheri - homemade ornaments are just the best. Your tree is certainly lovely. I would enjoy some of those delicious chocolate chip cookies too. Very appropriate with a rainy day. Hope your move goes well friend. Hugs!

Oh Sheri, the ornaments are to be cherished. Everything looks so lovely. I did't know you were planning to move. Will you move closer to one of the kids, therefore closer to a grand? By the way, the Bohemian babies look gorgeous. Just LOVED those outfits. Sheri, thanks so much for your sweet visits and comments on my blog Writing Straight from the Heart. Love them. Have a blessed and beautiful weekend. Susan

I LOVE it! My tree is filled with ornaments my kids made (yes, we have a macaroni angel too!). When my son got married, I sent a few to his wife and she treasures them. And yes, that photo . . . rockin' the 80's for sure (I have some photos like THAT too haha!)
