People, Look Up

I just took a trip to So. Cal to see Nel.
Unlike my daughters, I don't like traveling.  I find no pleasure in it at all - the planning, the packing, the navigating the airport, taking the shuttle to the gate, the expense of it all.  I was at the airport waiting for my flight, and as I was looking around, most of the people had their heads buried in their phones.  I wanted to shout, "people, look up, we are about to go on a journey to the unknown" haha.

I am exhausted from my trip, but here's a little peek at some of the weekend fun we had.
Mia turned ONE!

Her birthday party theme was The Princess and the Frog, and her cake was really cute.

I don't like traveling much, but Nel was right when she said that once you get to your destination, you will not have regretted it.

Reminds me of a joke by a stand-up comedian. He Is amazed we fly through the air. When people complain on flights he thinks, "You are in a chair IN THE SKY!" He said we should spend every flight just going, "WEEEEeeeeeeeee!!!!" 😂

Oh Sherry, seeing you with the babies makes my heart smile. You are so happy there. I am not one to travel any more. I used to love to fly ..would have gone all the time. But it's not the same these days. Too many people , some rude..two much cost ...paying for luggage. That alone has me packing lighter. LOL. Blessings to all and Happy Birthday to Mia. xoxo, love you, Susie

HI SHERI! You did it, you took the flight! Yes, jet lag is no fun, but it will pass. The memories however, you will have much to ponder on and write about! What a darling theme for the party and her little lace and blue dress!

Beautiful photos. Adorable little "princess." That cake is awesome!

I'm with you Sheri, I don't like to travel like I thought I would, at my age. So much trouble and I miss my animals.

Hi Sheri,

How wonderful that you got to go and visit family and happy birthday to sweet Mia. Love the photo of you and the precious girls. Such a gorgeous little dress too.
I can't get over people today, they are always staring down at their phones, travelling and walking around the streets.
Have a happy week

Oh Sheri, I'm so glad you were able to fly down to go to Mia's party. I adore the sweet photo of you and your grandbabies! Mia's darling dress is beautiful. I know you are glad to have her and her parents closer to you.

I am afraid I am like you, not that i travel by air. Only one trip...but even with driving. It is not so much the actual traveling, but the getting ready and worrying about forgetting something important. But oh, it was worth it...I can see that from your photos....wouldn't miss it for the world if possible I bet.

So true regarding the travel Sheri, it is a time-consuming lot of work. We do it to keep up with our family but with the pleasure comes the tedious flying. In a few weeks we go on a long adventure which will involve a total of seven flights around the world. We have done it before, but I always feel a sense of dread as we take off. Of course, seeing daughter and grandsons is the reward. How beautiful is Mia, and her clever and sweet princess cake. Have a great week my friend.

Oh my gosh....one yr old already. Don't seem possible. Happy Bday to the sweet little one. You know I am iffy with travel, I like seeing different places but it takes so much out of me. I love flying more then I think I like driving however with that said one day I want to jump in my new SUV and drive to San Diego. Getting there might be doable, just not sure how long it would take me to make it back. I normally fly Southwest myself. Packing is a pain when staying longer then a couple of days, what to take and how much. Unpacking is a pain when you get home...BUT I do like seeing new things and places and the experience of it all.

So many of us are too busy to look up and see the many miracles life has to offer. I believe that miracles still happen, but we are just too blind to see them. Your message was perfect. You got a sense of the miracles around you after getting to your destination! Love the cake!

Sheri, I knoooooww! Air travel has become such a hassle. I especially hate having to take off our shoes now--ridiculous! Once I was traveling with two other women, on our way to a professional conference. The least "dangerous" looking of all of us was pulled out of the line for a full-on security check and was delayed so long that she nearly missed our flight despite our making a point to get to the airport much farther in advance than was recommended.

Hello Dear Sheri,
You are a beautiful Grandmother with absolutely the most precious Granddaughters.
I am glad you were able to travel to be with them. My traveling is always to see my family. We are blessed to have children who love us.
Great to catch up with you and oh I agree...people are missing out on the journey by staring at their silly phones.
Love,
jemma
