Home Love

This past weekend was the first, in what seems like a while, that I was able to spend at home.

I spent the weekend organizing my house and treating myself to leisure.

I was at Nel's a couple weeks ago, and she had the most beautiful white serving tray. I was inspired and bought my own!

I found it at Pier 1 Imports. It's the perfect addition to my dark, comfy couches.

I also finally had a chance to hang up a family-made sign that is very dear to me. I inherited it from my grandparents.

Speaking of inheritance, check out this little gem my boyfriend brought me that belonged to his grandmother.

It dates back to the 1920's!

He is planning to refurbish these lovely vintage pieces for me. I will be sure to post photos when it's complete.

Love that tray, Jess! I should probably go to Pier 1 and shop. I've not been to one in years, and there are probably things there that will want to come and live in my home! ;)

Your boyfriend sounds like a wonderful guy for giving you a prized heirloom from his family. He must think very highly of you!

Have a lovely day, Jess, Sheri and Nell!

Everything you buy and enjoy it's on you but that lovely piece is so much more. And it warms my heart beyond words...

You should try your hand (and feet ;)) on making it work. It will teach you wonders of the past, there's a rhythm and cadence that will allow you to fly back and live in those charming times and ways. And since you seem to be in relax mode Enjoy!

Be Happy, Pretty Girl!!!

My grandmother had a Singer machine exactly like this one, a treadle machine. My mum had a hand one which she gave to me many years ago but I sold it because I was young and wanted a modern electric one. How much I regret that now! x

Oh Jess, I've always wanted a Singer sewing machine. When I see a sewing machine, it brings back memories of my mom sewing my clothes and making me a blouse when I found a special piece of fabric at the yardage store. What a treasured piece this is.

Weekends spent at home can be amazing and relaxing. I need them frequently as I get so tired from work. Love your pictures, the sewing machine is quite something, never seen one like that before.

Hello Jess

I sooo love being at home too. Life gets so hectic and I appreciate "me time" by just being at home.

I've always hankered after a Singer treadle - I hope you found some old cotton reels in those lovely drawers!!

I have my grandmothers sewing machine that is nearly 100 years old. I don't sew with it, but it has a place of honor in my craft room. They don't make them like that anymore!
