Follow The Whispers

I had a fun day with my son on Thursday.  I thought I'd take a drive to Folsom and spend the afternoon there.  First, we stopped for lunch at a pizza place, which prepares their own dough and pastas.  Then, I did some shopping in old town, which I love.  I'll show you what I bought later.

I always have to stop for red flowers.

Then, we decided to go to the zoo because it's been awhile since I've visited. (this zoo takes in injured animals and nurses them back to health).

I'm in awe every time I see the spectacular peacock.  She is graceful and elegant, but her honk is loud.

The lion was taking a nap, so it was hard to get a good view of him.

Here's what I bought at the charming shop in old town.  I love what it says.  We all have something that is calling us, and one of my pleasures is simply taking pictures of this wondrous world and seeing all the colors dance around me while I take it all in.

Sheri, Glad you had a fun day with your son. I loved your pictures. Those roses are beautiful. Once a peacock spread his feathers for my daughter and me and I told her he was saying"Oh this old thing, I only wear it when I don't care how I look. " LOL That's a line from , It's A Wonderful Life. ...the old Christmas movie. I like that like collage painting you chose to bring home. It must have whispered to you. :):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie

Hi Sheri. I haven't been to the zoo in a long time, too and your beautiful pictures make me realize what I've been missing out on. That peacock is stunning and I've always loved watching the big cats.

I love the picture you found at that quaint little shop. The colors are beautiful and it really makes you stop and think... :)

Hi Sheri! I love your post! When I lived in CA, I worked over in Folsom at a cute little gift shop, Dandelion something. I don't think it's there anymore. I love that town so pretty! I remember driving over the bridge over the river in the fog, was quite scary! Thanks for the memories!

That is so great! Makes me realize I haven't had a mother son day out in a long time. You've inspired me!

My granddaughter would have loved your zoo trip. Isn't there something especially magical about peacocks? I do love them. My parents used to live in a neighborhood where there were flocks of them and they certainly could disturb your sleep at night, but what a sight!

Thank you for the reminder to pay attention to what is calling us!

Hi,
The boys enjoyed the post. The Tiger was Atticus favorite. The Peacock was Sam's.
Your photos of the peacock are beautiful. You really captured the beauty of the peacock.

Sweet Sheri, your photos are just PERFECT! And this is quite a magical day. Red roses, animals, your son? What more would you want right now?

The donkey, the PEACOCK! Brilliant colors you have captured my friend!

We too had a perfect Saturday. My husband bought me my Ramblin' Red rose climber and we're planting it on the south side of our brick house. I cannot wait! We are getting rain today with colder temps coming tomorrow, but our spring will return.

Wishing you a beautiful Sunday, Anita

After that Lion - and no I don't need to see a better picture, just the close up of feet and claws are enough to give him a wide berth ahahahah - to see what you bought filled my heart with wonder. You are such a lovely person with so many sides, corners and nooks that's amazing to witness and be inspired by. The Love for big, bold and tough and then all that whimsy it's touching and lovely.
I love it and I love that every time you look at it you'll remember lazy and sweet strolls with big handsome boy.
