Thomas Kinkade Painting

We went to Placerville yesterday.  I think it's my favorite town to walk around at.  They have such a charming old town and friendly people.
The bell in the center of town.
I went into the Hardware store, which was established in 1852, and it's not just a hardware store - it has home goods and so many interesting things.
We stopped and ate lunch at one of their lovely restaurants.
I've always admired Thomas Kinkade's paintings, and went inside the original gallery where he first showed his artwork.
I've wanted one of his paintings for such a long time, so husband bought me one.  I was thrilled.  It is a beautiful painting of a white cottage with snow, and I will treasure it always.
It was a fun day, and Placerville will always hold a special place in my heart.

Oh Sheri, I love this post! My best friend since 4th grade lives in Placerville. It's such a quaint town. Your images are so fun and you have shared some places I need to see next time I visit. As for Thomas Kincaide, congrats! What a beautiful painting for you to take home. My mom has one, of a cottage in the snow, that hung in our cottage at Tahoe for many years. Wonderful memories for sure. Happy Sunday lovely lady! xx

What a nice day you had! I love little towns like that too and my husband and I both love the little independent hardware stores. So glad the big box stores didn't drive this one out of existence.

A beautiful painting!

You know my friend, you and I both have husbands who create magic moments for us. I can't even begin to describe how in many ways, our lives are parallel. We too have several small towns like this, one of them being Stillwater, Minnesota, which borders Wisconsin by way of the St. Croix River. It is a darling community such as this, with antique stores galore, and great places to eat. Like your husband, mine often buys me a souvenir while we are GORGEOUS is your little white cottage. I know you will indeed cherish it forever.

Have a super week my dear friend! Anita

That's a lovely gift, a memory of happy days to treasure and repeat.
You'll love to have that souvenir in your home; on Summer to remind the not so hot days and on Winter a reminder of comfort and warmth.
So glad to see you enjoyed it in full.
Wishing you a lovely week,

I have always thought that when Thomas Kincade stepped into Heaven, he walked into one of his lovely villages. :)

oH YOU ARE so right in describing that town as charming, I am only looking at your pics and it looks amazing, what more in person. It looks like the towns where films are made. And that Kinkade painting is so fab. Nice restaurant too, the kind where people would say they would eat again after they've just had their meal there.

First, to answer your question,
yes, it was the movie Thomas Kinkades Christmas Cottage. What a wonderful film that was.
How sweet of you to come for a visit. I love ~ humble~.. Thank you for the suggestion.. Going to be hard to make a choice.. So many sweet names.. Your kind words always touch my heart.

Oh Sheri, I've always loved him too. He's a master at portraying light. Mr G bought me one of his paintings years ago, at one of his galleries here in Florida, titled Cobblestone Bridge. Every time I look at it I feel as if I'm transported into the painting.
It will now remind me of you too.

Lovely iron work through those windows. I could have fun capturing some of the details in that iron work!
