A tree is just a tree
until you give it
some love.
Ornaments around here
come and go,
but these handmade
ones from my
children I will never
let go.
Jess made this little
wooden guy
with beads at school
one year.
The crocheted Santa
she also made.
This little angel is a
favorite of mine.
Nel made it, and on
the bottom she wrote,
"my name is Sheri."
Jess made this angel,
and the wings
and body are made
out of macaroni shells.
aahh, my son's
candy cane he made
out of beads.
This isn't homemade,
but it's my Starbucks cup
ornament. Gotta have
a little whimsical.
Homemade ornaments
are the best,
don't you think?

Good Morning Sheri!
Oh yes, I completely agree homemade ornaments, especially those from our sweet children are the very best indeed. These are all adorable and you have kept them in such good condition too. I love the "Sheri," angel ornament and her long beautiful brown hair!
Have a delightful day my dear!

I loved yours!!!
Kisses, sweetheart!!!
I agree, sweet friend :) In fact, in my post today I wrote about my son and I decorating our Christmas with beloved ornaments - he was full of questions about the history of them.
Hugs to you!
Yes! My favorite ornaments are the ones that the kids and grandkids have made. I have several.
What sweet family ornaments, full of meaning and joy! Have a wonderful Tuesday.
Handmade ornaments cannot be beaten, they have such memories with them! x

Oh Sheri, your ornaments are so special, made by your loving children.
And your Mama was SUCH a doll. You must miss her with all your heart. Susan

Yes, handmade ornaments are precious. I especially like the macaroni/pasta noodle angel.
Did my comment go through? Just saying I especially love the pasta/macaroni angel.
Sheri, Those ornaments are priceless. I don't blame you for keeping them. Did you have flash backs while you hung them?? I think about some my girls made and some times I cry...I can't help it. I love each one. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Those are absolutely the best ornaments of all. About 2 years ago I gave all the kids each of their special ornaments and let them take turns choosing family ornaments until they were gone. They love having them on their trees and I love seeing them in their homes (where I always knew they would go someday). It was time for me to do that.
I love that you still have all your kid's creations. My kids were thrilled that I had kept them all and they got them back. xo Diana

Sweet ornaments. Lots of wonderful memories. Love that Starbucks ornament too. I did not know they had one.
Good morning my dear Sheri! Yes, handmade anything is the best. There is a soul behind it and the memories come through every time you hold them. I wish I had some of the ornaments my mother made, but those are long gone. My first real tree this year (yes, my first real tree since I've been married) is sparse with little lights and that's all. I love looking at it and smelling it, and imaging. Sometimes, I love seeing what isn't there (meaning, I like to imagine) and there is so much joy in that.
Isn't this a great time of year to create? Hugs to you dear one. Anita
How beautiful, Sheri, they are the perfect tree ornaments, made by your children. You will treasure them always. xx
Handmade or collected from travels and many Decembers, they're all special to me. I have a coastal themed tree up this year to reflect our Florida home, and most of the ornaments are collected from weekend adventures to the Florida Keys with Mr G. When our chickadees come home for the holidays next week, together we will hang up the ones they made and collected throughout the years.
That said, my favorite tree is a bare tree, dressed only in lights andpossibilities. Magic! :)
xoxo

Oh I loved this post and the wonderful story behind those precious ornaments. I have a couple that my daughters made in elementary school that I kept, too. The funny thing is, I see both of them smiling every time we pull them out of the storage box and hang them on the tree... :)
♥Hello my dear friend! Ooooo, love this post :) ♥♥ Happy day! xxx Riitta
Hi there! these decorations are so lovely! my favourites are from my kids, and what I have found at local craft fairs. Love your blog, I'm going to follow it
Kind regards, Nancy (Stonecropsister.com)
I'm enjoying catching up on your posts tonight. I often buy new tree ornaments but I especially like the ones from many years ago, each one with a story or a memory. Yours are all so special and cute too. The one made from pasta - that's so creative!
