Summer Road Trip to NOLA

My boyfriend has a fear of flying, so sometimes we have to get creative with our travels.

This year, we decided to plan a road trip to one of my favorite cities in the world, New Orleans, Louisiana!

We met up with Nel and her husband, but before we got there, we drove through California,

Arizona,

New Mexico,

Texas,

(and of course we stopped for some famous Texas BBQ)

and finally Louisiana.

Louisiana was my favorite state to pass through. It was very green, lush, swampy, and beautiful.

It was really interesting to drive through each state and view the changing landscapes.

On the way there, we drove through the northern parts of states,

and on the way back, we drove through the southern parts, so we were able to see the differences between the north and the south of each state.

Stay tuned for our adventures in our destination city, New Orleans!

So much better this way (if I may say so).

He has too gorgeous arms to have to mind them (people are always worried about... hum, derriére... space in planes. for me it's arms' (I'm latin ;), I need space to gesture, to move them, even if I'm sleeping I need to know I won't be elbowing someone... don't laugh, when I arrive my destination the upper part of my body feels like it travelled in a trunk. And the conversations? no, I won't start rambling on that... just saying that Jess' boyfriend has G-R-E-A-T taste. In girlfriend department also ahahah (you're too thin, pretty girl, but that's a rant for another post... Nel said you had thousands pics ;))... those arms were made to feel the breeze and the sun while having the road - and the world - to travel in.

And how wonderful it is to stop when you want? And eat wherever it suits you?

So much better this way... Hurray for the phobias that allow us to have more fun!!!

Can't get over the wonderful ironwork in New Orleans Balconies.

Thank you for sharing,
T

Fantastic photos and a great way to see the sights. I hate flying too, and I think part of traveling is the journey itself, not just the destination. BEAUTIFUL! Anita

I used to have a fear of flying, until my recent flight to Germany. But now that I've flown, it's amazing! But the positive about being afraid of flying is that it makes for an awesome road trip like this one :)

Road trips are the best way to travel because the journey becomes a whole experience by itself . Never been so far away but my brother visited Louisiana a few days before the floods. He loved so much.
I'm so glad you have had so much fun!
Wishing you all best things!

I love many things about the US; one of these is how diverse the landscape is.
Road trips are not only fun, but also a great opportunity to bond with the people you travel with and learn new things too.

I loved your photos! :)

What a trip Jess! I myself prefer flying (albeit I admit these days it is less than glamorous!)
Thanks for sharing the photos,

I agree with him, but I have flown around the world but it is not something I enjoy much prefer to stay on the ground not so far to fall.
And the destination was a great place, I really liked it best in all of the USA.

I am sure you are enjoying the time of your life. What fun it is to travel our beautiful country by car. My husband and I rarely fly anywhere. We drive, and we talk, and we giggle, and we just enjoy the heck out of a road trip. Bless your little heart, I know you will enjoy New Orleans. We drive down to New Orleans every three or four years for my husbands reunion. From the North coast of Ohio to the Gulf coast. We love every minute of the trip.

This looks like great fun. I can relate. I have a huge fear of flying too so I have missed out on a lot of travel over the years. I have never even left Australia. Your post reminds me that there are other ways to travel and I don't have to miss out entirely on these experiences.

I love road trips, well kinda; not extremely long ones. We drove to Disney last year and 6 hrs in the car wasn't too bad. Like you mentioned it's fun to see the scenery changes from each state. Glad you had a nice time. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip.
