Showered with Love

One of my best friends from high school is getting married this summer, and though we live half a state apart she was so sweet to ask me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding.

Her wedding shower was this last weekend, and it was so great to see her! She's one amazing girl--beautiful, smart, hilarious, and so very hard-working. So I thought she deserved a little bridal pampering.

As a gift, I created this breakfast-in-bed basket. I found a cute breakfast tray and gathered some delightful morning delicacies--pecan cinnamon roll pancake mix, salted caramel hot cocoa, and English breakfast tea.

Add a couple of classic white coffee cups and saucers nestled in a plush velvet blanket...

and a few finishing touches...

and we're ready to go!

I'm always on the look out for cute and creative gift ideas for the special women in our lives...are there any you would like to share?

That is such a thoughtful gift idea Nel - I bet she was delighted. I love to find cute crafts and have started a little Pinterest board to document the ones I would like to try http://www.pinterest.com/dolliedaydream/cute-crafts/. I've recently made some cookie mix jars but that's about as far as my talents stretch these days x

PERFECT!
You couldn't have chosen more perfect items or better idea... beats a Trip around the World every time :).

25 years ago I married. Yep, too soon to know better ahahahah. I had a wonderful wedding. A wonderful ceremony. Thousands of gifts. But if you ask me "what wedding gifts did you have?" the first that comes to my mind - and let me tell you that the Aunt who gave it to me wasn't even on my Auntie Top 10 ;) so I'm not biased - is a basket very much in line of your idea.

Of course not being my favorite Aunt - I'd hop her if she had chosen ME items like you did ;) ahahah - she chose pratical and nosense items: oli, beans, rice, tablecloths, wood spoons, couple of pans, tuna cans... (you get the sense; being a no nonsense Aunt I though her idea was great and so welcome when we arrived home and raided the basket so we could cook a midnight snack)

I hope in Heaven she's indulging in her nonsense area and having a blast doing baskets like your to very fortunate and happy friends who are marrying in their 180 years ahahahah

Well Done, Fairy Nel!

I love the idea of a basket. One that is created for a specific person with their special tastes in mind. I recently sent a fiend an item she had been looking for and packed the box with tea napkins and lovely embroidered tea cloths. I also included a sweet blue checked summer tablecloth. It felt so good to give something that was appreciated. Thank you for stopping by my blog, I really appreciate your comments. I am your newest follower.... Candy
