The branches are very mysterious, and this tree has weathered many storms.
The trunk is huge - can you imagine all the rings it would have if it was cut down?
This tree has provided shade for us on many a hot, sunny day.
Happy September!

Oh Sheri, what a beautiful old tree.
Oh the secrets that tree could tell if it could speak. So many beautiful trees are cut down to make room for more houses and buildings. I love trees....
Have a great week although it's suppose to continue to be hot and humid here in So CA.

Such a gorgeous tree! Happy September to you too!
XOXO Mary
What a great old tree. There was an old oak that stood all by itself on top of the hill on our farm. I often went there to eat a sandwich and read. xo Diana
When we lived in Southern CA we had oak trees everywhere.. I do miss them:) So peaceful and there's nothing better than a summer picnic under an old oak tree. xxleslie

This is a gorgeous tree-I always, always respect and admire trees. We had a book years and years ago about a tree and the wonderful home and shelter it provided for all of God's creatures-it was so heartwarming! Thank you for sharing your tree with us!
Warm Hugs,

Sigh...oh my, this one made me tear up. It reminded me of our beautiful front yard oak tree. She was a beauty. We watched her grow from practically a tiny twig to a towering mature tree for 23 years. Her trunk was huge, her shade perfect. I especially loved that she had finally matured enough to shower us with acorns every year and I used to enjoy sitting outside to hear them pop on the ground. It was heavenly, especially just as the sun was going down at dusk. I miss our oak tree. Miss AJ painted it for me to take with me before we left.
I'm glad I wait to visit with you when I can take every little detail in, my friend...unrushed. This was a perfect treat with my coffee this morning.
Off to see what else I've missed.

Hi Sheri and girls,
This tree is amazing. Love it. We have live oaks here and they are gorgeous to view.
I am back from my time away and it truly went by fast. We celebrated our Ruby Anniversary on Coronado Island and had a fabulous time. Perfect weather. We hated to return to our extreme heat.
I am so ready for fall.
Enjoy the rest of the week.

Good morning ladies! I am ever so late; the first week of school is always a bit difficult because I have to get up extra early to even blog then take my husband to school then get myself to school early enough to prepare! Lovely tree. I hate to see trees like this die you come down after a storm, and that's what happened here in early June! I hope this tree continues to shade your area for many years to come.
