Summer Road Trip

I just returned from an exciting summer road trip.

It was the perfect graduation celebration and kick-off to summer
(P.S. Thank you so much for all of the graduation wishes :-)

We made our way through  the American Southwest and more...
Route 66
Grand Canyon, Arizona
Four Corners, USA
Aspen, Colorado
Moab, Utah

I will be sharing a few of our photos in upcoming posts...

Today, we'll be getting our kicks on Route 66!

Route 66 by Chuck Berry

Our first stop from California was our neighbor state, Arizona.

We stayed in Williams, about an hour away from the Grand Canyon, in Arizona's oldest hotel: The Grand Canyon Hotel

It was not your typical chain, but very historic and charming.

It was also affordable (traveling on a budget IS possible!) I loved it.

The hotel was located right on the famous
Route 66.

There was even an option to take the train to the Grand Canyon.

After exploring the little town of Williams

and stuffing our bellies at a Route 66 styled diner,

we decided to kick up our feet and rest for the Grand Canyon the following day.

Stay tuned for a very GRAND post.

Hi Jess! This looks amazing:) I grew up in S. CA and miss this area.. it's a must see. I like the "old west" feel. I remember taking the mule ride down into the Grand Canyon. The 66 diner must have been delicious!

Have a great weekend. xxleslie

What a wonderful sounding trip. Your photos are gorgeous. That last one though made me feel a little scared...looks like you are sitting on the edge of the canyon. :)

Hi sweet Sheri! Good to see you precious! Bloglovin' is super duper easy. Just Google it and import in a FLASH all of your blog favorites. But unless you had Google Reader, you have nothing to worry about. I was and really am still a little fuzzy about it, but I think we're fine.

HAPPY DAY DEAR ONE! Anita

Yes, I think the changes only effected people who used Google Reader, and I think we would have known it if we did!!!!!!!!!!!
