City Of Love

Nel has been very stressed out lately with work and other demands that have come her way.  Along with teaching, she has also taken on two other job responsibilities on top of that.  I want to tell her to try and stay focused, and soon she will be on her long awaited trip to Paris.

Where she will delight in the charming cafes there.

 

 

Look upon the amazing statues and museums.

And take in all the beautiful sites.

It won't be long, Nel, until you and this sparkling city meet again.

Snow Day

A play date in the snow makes for a perfect day in January.  

This is beautiful Big Bear, California.
 

We strolled through the village

and captured a few shots.

And of course we made time for sledding!

Nature Speaks To Me

Me and my husband have been taking long rides in the country lately.  We love the fresh air, the great pine and oak trees, listening to nature's song, and the peace that it brings.

 

It's usually hard to get a good image of deers as they quickly run away, but this one stopped, stood still, and let me take his picture.

 

 

 

These geese were all gathering at a nearby lake.  Do you know that geese mate for life?

 

 

 

I just wanted to hop on one of these horses and get the ride of my life.

 

 

 

This white pony was precious.  I have a thing for white horses.

The Sights Down Town

There is a mural on a downtown street that always catches my eye every time I pass through, and the roses that are drawn on this wall always bring a smile to my face.

The painting covers the whole wall, and I think it's so striking.

Missing You

On New Years Day,

five years ago,

my mom left this world,

and every January

I take a few days,

go off by myself,

hybernate,

and miss her dearly.

  

On a lighter note,

it's almost

Valentines Day,

and I bought some

of my favorite

Valentine chocolates.
 

 

This reminds me

of all the love I get

Scholarly Seating

I just wanted to share my favorite Christmas gift I received from my parents:

This chair is exceptionally comfortable and functional, and it looks darling in my living room. 

I am on my way to getting my teaching credential (read about my path here), and my new scholarly chair will provide me with support as I plan lessons, write papers, and study hard.

Keeping the Time

I've been feeling a bit pressed for time lately.

It seems like there just aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done.

Do you ever feel the same?

So I decided to start keeping an extra supply of time on hand...

I plan to wind up my collection of clocks and display them all in my study where I do my work, but for now the time has stopped atop a few good books.
