Apple Hill

We went to Apple Hill this weekend.  It's our favorite place to go in Northern California.  The girls bought apples and apple butter to take home with them. The apples are so delicious there, a very different taste from the stores.

We each had a piece
of apple pie.  Jess'
caramel apple pie
was amazing.

We browsed through
all the Christmas
trees.  I wish I could
take one home with me.

I love this little
bench under the tree.

After, we went
to Grandma's house,
and the views at her
home are beautiful.

I wonder what critter
is living in this tree?

"Like the sky opens
after a rainy day,
we must open to
ourselves...learn
to love yourself
for who you are
and open so the
world can see
you shine."

Oh Sheri, how very true is this quote. I truly believe the hustle and the bustle of life that we find ourselves in lately is not what was meant for us to endure EVERY DAY. Nature speaks God's gift to us and it is only when we can stop to watch it, smell its perfumes and use the other senses to capture it that we can feel a sense of peace. OH MY that caramel apple dessert sounds TOO GOOD!

When I was in France, I could not figure out why the food was as great as it was. WHY DID IT TASTE BETTER than what we get here? FRESH. SEASONAL. OFF THE TREE. Like what you describe here, it is when we get it fresh off the tree like nature intended that we can really taste the true value.

I thank you so much for your comment today. I find myself pleasantly busy with Etsy (THANK YOU FOR YOUR PURCHASE!!!!) and with other commissions coming my way. It is a step in the right direction and it will simply take time.

Like you, I love the photos of the little boys and the old man. Men are to be celebrated and included in our whimsical dreams....I have a soft spot in my heart for like you say, "...the sons of the world." If I had children, I would love to have had at least one son. He would have brinked on being one spoiled little man....but there is something about them that tells you they need so much care for they have to go out and prove themselves, be good husbands and fathers, and so on.

Well my beloved friend, thank you for your uplifting friendship and I wish you a FABULOUS SUNDAY! Now back to my work on writing an essay for my writing class....Anita

Thank you for stopping by Mi Vida Loca. I'm now following your lovely blog. I was so excited to see your post on Apple Hill, this too is one of our favorite day-cations. The family photo on my blog was taken at High Hill Ranch #1 last fall. We might travel there for a tree if were lucky this year.I look forward to seeing what you ladies get into next!

What a great way to spend the weekend and it looks like you had beautiful weather for it! Jess' carmel apple pie looks scrumptious! I'm going to make one for Christmas. Husband said he wanted one so I will bake him one. Ha

Beautiful quote Sheri. It seems that learning to love yourself "warts and all" is not an easy thing to do. We can sometimes be our own worst enemy. All we can do is to be the best we can be! :)

I think they sould send the taste of apple to Space!
Do you know when they say they sent a music or an object of our time to the Space so it can be found in many billion years or something.
Wouldn't be lovely to send apples' taste for them to enjoy?
What a wonderful and treasured time you had.
Thank you for sharing!

And oh yes, love yourself. Because I'm ahead of you and already Love You Very Much!!!!

Sheri,

How wonderful to live in a place with changes of topography and yet a temperate climate. The older I get the less I like the coming of winter. I don't like encumbering my life with extra clothes and the weather report influencing my day. Other than that, life is great!
