A Nice Place To Visit

We spent the day in Sacramento this last weekend, and had a nice time seeing all the sites.  First, we stopped for breakfast at Ernestos, a favorite of Jess'.

Then, we took some pictures of the California State Capitol.

This statue was on the Capitol.  It's a warrior fighting off a grizzly bear with his spear.

These are a couple of ancient statues near the Capitol.

Let's stop and smell the roses.

Off to Old Sac.  I love the historical buildings here.

The Delta King, an old steamboat from the
1800's that cruised from San Francisco to Sacramento.

The red brick buildings are so charming.

This costume shop is a favorite of ours.

I always smile when the stage coach passes me.

Stopping at my favorite sweet shop is a must.

Remember the alley I told you about where
my husband first kissed me?

After reminiscing about our first kiss, we noticed a wedding in the midst.  What a sight it was!

Old Sacramento is always a fun place for us to visit.

I love that Off to Old Sac photo. The way modern mingles with ancient is so lovely and respectful and it warms my heart.

Hope you had a fabulous 4th, Sweet Lady!

And I watch that wedding pic and remember your kiss story happening in an alley and somehow it's like watching circles being made, being lived and loved, perpetuating Love Stories, one after another...

Oh yes, alleys have come up in my consideration.

Love,
Teresa

Oh how I love historical buildings, old houses, churches and most of all old facades.

I'm living in a little town called Maastricht (Netherlands) and it has lots and lots of old historical buildings, and the most beautiful facades.

So you can imagine how happy I am living there.

Love,
B.

SHERI DEAR!!!

Isn't that an infamous ALLY!!! It must have a draw for love....teehee...OH I have never been that far up California. Born in L.A., I had never been outside of Santa Barbara until I got married and spent time in Carmel and Monterey. That costume shop looks like FUN!

Dearest, I hope you are not having TOO much of a heat wave out your way; we have had really high temps this week and I am looking for some relief! Sending you wishes for a happy weekend! Anita

Sheri,

Sacramento looks like a wonderful place to visit and old Sac. has a lot of charm that only comes with older sections of the cities. The weather worn brick buildings and the quaint shops along the main street are lovely!

I hope you had a wonderful time!

Oh, how perfect to have spotted that wedding while reminiscing about romance. LOVE IT! These pics look so fun. By the way, I'll never look at a red rose without thinking of you again. You do know that? ;)

I'm finishing up a few touches on several posts, including our Snow in July post, which I think you will love. I also have several paper projects being shipped out and hope to get to the post office soon. My car has been in the shop for a couple of weeks, but back home now, thank God.

Wishing you a beautiful weekend, my friend.
MUAH!

Hi Sheri! Thanks for stopping by! I always look forward to hearing from you. Sacramento looks like my kind of town. Thanks for the tour. Love the story of you and hubbie's first kiss in the alley. That's a nice looking alley! The wedding photo is charming! Glad to hear you had a nice 4th. It's sweltering here in Michigan. So thankful for air-conditioning! It was 101 with high humidity today. Are you experiencing a heat wave? I agree with Marcia, I always think of you when I see a red rose.

Hugs, Sandy

Good morning beautiful!!!!

What a lovely morning it is here in Minneapolis, and today there is promise of a cooler weekend. We had rain last night and that will either give us humidity or cool things off. Either way, the sun is shining and love is abounding.

Thank you for your visit to my OCEAN adventure; I don't know why, the the water just calls to me. I don't swim, but the heavenly blues and the sea animals just intrigue me!!!

Enjoy a day filled only with the magic of love.
