I got a cup of coffee yesterday and went to the park, and while I was sitting there drinking my coffee, I heard a noise coming from the tree above me. I looked up, and to my surprise there was my beloved bird, the hummingbird. I just looked at it in awe as it flew above me. I couldn't get a clear view of it because it was high in the tree. When I go to the park, I sometimes think and pray, and that's what I started to do. I asked God to give me strength and peace, for the world can get hectic and harsh at times. Just then, the hummingbird flew down right in front of my car, stayed in one place and fluttered about for a few seconds. My heart was overjoyed at the sight of this special bird.
We all need peace in the world. You, my bloggy friends, give me peace. You are uplifting, supportive, and above all, kind. I thank you for that, from the bottom of my heart.

beauty as well
as bread, places

nature may heal
and give strength

I hope you have peace today.

"Symbol of the Hummingbird
The hummingbird symbolizes love, joy and beauty. The hummingbird is unique in that it can fly backward, teaching us that we can look back at our past, but not dwell there, and continue to go forward. Its ability to hover while drinking nectar is a lesson for us to savor each moment, while appreciating its sweetness."
What a lovely sight (sign) you had, Dear Sherri.
May Peace be with you Also.
Love,
Teresa
What a lovely post and how special to enjoy a hummingbird's visit. I have never seen one in real life, so you are blessed indeed. Have a lovely day x
Sheri- What a great post. Don't you think that God sent that little bird there as a sign that He was listening? Perfect~ xo Diana
A most beautiful post today, Sheri.
That sounds like a very special moment you had on the park bench. I love peaceful moments like you describe.
I must say I also enjoyed the symbol of the hummingbird in your comments. How interesting. I'd never heard that before.
My hummingbird feeder is filled and I am just waiting for the first little darling to arrive.
Peace to you today and always.
Dear Sheri,
The hummingbird is so fascinating to watch in flight. I love that we have them in our area and keep a feeder out for them all season. And they do visit it often. We keep it filled with fresh food as they need so much nectar to stay alive. Of course they prefere the real deal but when flowers are not always in bloom we just have to help them out!
Glad this brought you peace and may peace be with you always..

Private time to reflect and collect our thoughts a few words with our dear lord sets the way for peace.
Seeing your humming bird hover over you that must have been so uplifting Sheri.

Love and peace....xxx...
Awww Sheri! You are such a lovely kind soul! The hummingbird is a symbol of joy and one of my favorite birds. You just reminded me that I need to put my feeder up. My mom's b-day is May 4th and I usually always see my first hummer the first or second week of May.
How lovely that this moment brought you such peace and joy. You give so much to others and I'm sending you my love.

Sheri,
What a lovely post! Yes, PEACE does come at unexpected moments! Living in the moment, taking a deep breath, and always looking for goodness in nature and people (something I used to preach to my children when they were young). That's happiness, and yes ~ the blogging community is a wonderful place with lots of support!
Thank you for stopping by today!

I've always felt that God visits us in such ways to encourage us and remind us that HE is always here.
I love to go to the park and just sit on a bench in the shade. It has such a calming effect on me and I can think much more clearly especially if I am in the throes of a major decision.
I wrote a blog post several months ago on an extraordinary experience I had with dragonflies. You can read about it here: http://lareportiste.blogspot.com/2012/01/transformation-and-dragonflies.html
I wish I could have been sitting there with you drinking coffee and soaking in the moment. I love how God romances us in these ways....~enjoy your moments ((hugs))
Dear Sheri
What a beautiful post.. You know, I feel God speaks to us all the time, even with the flutter of tiny wings of the hummingbird..
Bless you, and thank you so much for wandering over and leaving such a sweet note about my coach.
Penny
p.s. Love your music
I love God moments like that! It's his way of showing us his love. My friend walked to her mailbox the other day and hundreds of butterflies swarmed around her, like a tornado...She just raised her arms and laughed. God moments are the best. So glad you got one and he let you know he heard you. It's the little things that really are the big things.
It is comforting to know that if God takes care of the birds...He will indeed look after us...thank-you for sharing.
A Good Sign! I love this post, i truly agree with you that the world can be hectic and harsh at times and we all need peace in the world! i too thanking you for sharing this lovely post and for being kind and supportive too!

Thank you for your kind words on my blog. I like to come over for a visit. The images here are beautiful, looking forward to making the summer. The temperatures here are actually already summer and we already enjoy many hours in the garden.

This is so refreshing to me today, Sheri. The timing is perfect. I just love it when such divine encounters happen to cross our path. My bloggy friends (like yourself) give me great joy and peace too.
Love the quote as usual.
PS-Sent you an email with a quick question.

Hi Sheri!
Thanks for coming over to F@H today! I'm sorry I have not been blogging lately, but I did get by to read and comment on Nel's post last week. Her dress is so lovely and the veil will be spectacular! I see that you've chosen a wedding photographer! That's cool. I think that is the most important vendor that you will hire for the wedding. And we'll all be looking for those photos!
As for your hummingbird, I do believe God does use His creations to minister to us in all their innocence and beauty, just when we need it most.
Enjoy those girls and that beautiful park Jess found!

Hi Sheri,
Oh what a magical moment you've experienced. I know that feeling so well and it's so special. I always figure that God is speaking to me when such happens. It's the most beautiful thing you can experience in life I think. How wonderful you got to see your favorite bird so close! OH, and what a beautiful picture that is with the pink flowers and the hummingbird! We don't have hummingbirds here in the Netherlands. I'd love to see one once, wow!
This post made my morning....
