Sweet Dreams

Sometimes during the day, I'll get sleepy and take a nap.  The girls have more energy than me, and don't take pleasure in them as I do.  When I moved to Southern California, I find myself taking less naps, because there's always so much to do here, so much to see; and those girls keep me on the go.  I just smile and tell them when they are my age, they will surely look forward to naptime too.

Every now and then, in the middle of the day, I will still shut my eyes for awhile.  If you're like me and take a nap, I hope your dreams are filled with pleasant surroundings.

What about you?  Do you take a nap during your busy day?

Oh Sheri, how I WISH I could nap. Since the "menopause" hit 6 yrs. ago ( I'm 55 now) I have been an insomniac. I would LOVE nothing more than to be able to close my eyes anytime, day or night and fall asleep and dream, but it is not meant to be. They tell me it will pass, but I'm exhausted in waiting for that day : (
If someone were to offer me a couple wishes, sleep would be one of them.

Sometimes on Sunday afternoon I will pile up and watch a movie on Lifetime and doze off and miss the end. I love that so much!

Hi Sheri,
Love your posting today. Where I live, it is a little more overcast day....perfect for a nice cup of tea, a book, and then a nap! :) But, alas, I have lots to do today...I am preparing to leave in a few days for my trip to Houston for the shower of my son and his fiance. I must say, Sheri, that cupcake looks totally divine!!! Yum! Love all your photos! One of my favorite songs is the Mamas and Papas..."Dream a Little Dream of Me." Happy napping! xoxo Kim

I would nap if my dreams were as wonderful as the pics you posted... unfortunetly, I can't nap. As much tired as I am I always get up grumpry and with a terrible headache.
Hubby is a huge fan of napping and dogs always tag along ahahahah. Now I'll be at them during their naps and thinking what they're dreaming of.
Hubby claims that naps were best invention of mankind :) and in Spain we found some people having the siesta in garden benches during lunchtime.
Happy napping Dear Sherri!

Hi Sheri,
beautiful photos; I LOVE the pic of the sculpted swans!; although I'm not a mid-day napper, I have 4 older sisters and most of them do this; as always on the go, type A girls, the mid-afternoon nap helps them to refuel and clear their minds so they can tap into their creative energy for the rest of the day. As busy women, sometimes we need that little 15 minutes to an hour all to ourselves because we're always doing, and giving so much to others.
Have a beautiful week!

I do take little afternoon shut eyes every once in awhile. They are so refreshing and then I can go a little longer that night working on my computer or catching up on my magazines without falling asleep in the middle of reading them. :)

Sheri, yes I take naps. You know that if I take only 15 to 20 min. I feel energized. However, a longer nap is always better. One day I slept so long that when I woke up thought it was the next day, felt so strange. But my hubby soon made me realize it was the same day. Hugs...Lu

Hi Sheri,
Good for you that you can take a nap! That's the best you can do for yourself during the day to regain new energy and strength! I hardly get to it but I feel the important difference when i've taken a nap. Now i'm only 45 lol, but my body tell me i'm 85 haha, so I really should be doing that more. I once saw on TV that you gain the most of a nap when you lay down, hold a bunch of keys and when it falls down you should get up again. That way you benefit from the renewed energy the most. Well, that's what I learned from a documentary. Not sure if it's 100% true lol. Enjoy your naps! I won't have time today for a nap. Have a teatime appointment with one of the neighbours ;-)
hugs

Hi Sheri,
I dream of taking naps. Why I don't force myself to do so goes all the way back to Pre-K (last century). I feel like I will miss out on something if I take a nap. But as I mature I really appreciate the value of a great nap. Especially on a rainy day. Love your post my dear!

Hi Sheri! Yes! Sometimes I lie down for 20 minutes during my break (work is very near my house). Sometimes I lay down as soon as I get home from work. I might sleep an hour or two or just rest for a few minutes. My two kittens purring is such relaxing grey noise! Thanks so much for your friendly visit and comment today!

Hi Sheri! How are you & how are your girls? Love the pics on this post! :) I actually do try to sneak in a cat nap during the day if possible since I'm a night owl and tend to work on projects way into the wee hours. That being said, I have a little one, and when he takes a nap - I sure try to as well! :) And, I know what you mean about SoCali having so many things to keep you busy. I've lived here for 17+ years, and there are still a ton of things that I have yet to do! lol

Anyway, have a most wonderful day & upcoming weekend!

XO's,
Jessie

Nap??? Girl, your just too dang funny. The only time this Ozark Farm Chick takes a nap is when I'm at death's door! Heeehehehe!!!

Now, on the other-hand...I seldom make it through the ten O'Clock news!

Before I know it it's 5:00 am and Farm Boy's shankin' me sayin'..."it's time to make the doughnuts!!! Not that I've had a doughnut in years but the man wants breakfast! :o)

From the sunny hills and hollers of the beautiful Missouri Ponderosa, ya'll have a blessed and glorious day!!!

Usually nap time happens during the non busy days! My family has always been a family of nappers. I don't get people who don't like to have a nap every once in a while!

Did someone say TIRED? I never stop and I like it that way......the only trouble is when you are a night owl (mostly because all is quiet with no interuptions)and you love morning. . . hmmmmm, I guess that is where my problem comes in. Loving the wee hours and loving sunrise. I will grab a few zzzzz's whenever I can. You are not alone and as I read comments neither am I!
