Within A Tiny Acorn

January is probably the coldest month here in northern California.  Time to wear warm sweaters, boots, and sip on hot drinks throughout the day.  Here's a few pics around my town and the next.

The trees are all bare now.

Lots of rain yesterday.

One white rose still blooming
at the rose garden.

It was a gloomy day,
but the sun started to shine above
the church steeple.

Soft and gentle,
yet endures the harshest weather.

I thought this fence was
decorated so pretty.

Nel told me that I must try the
chocolate chip cookies
at Disney.  Nel, I had mine this
morning with my coffee,
and you're right, it was so good.

Frost and fog at the trail.

Within a tiny acorn,
a mighty oak is waiting!
Great things always start small,
so embrace beginnings
and take joy in the journey.

Got my coffee early one morning
when it was still dark out,
and drove through the shopping center
where everything was all lit up.

Off to a good start in the new year!

Sheri, When I catch a glimpse of sunshine on a cloudy day like you showed us, I call it a smile from God. It just makes me smile. So nice to have a wonderful cup of coffee and a cookie. I am beginning to think ..roses grow where ever you go .:):) I those roses on the fencing were adorable. Blessings to you my sweet friend, xoxo, love, Susie

Sheri I am always in awe of your amazing photography. Your coldest month is January, ours is February with much snow, ice and howling winds. I hope your Christmas was beautiful, ours was very nice, thank you so very much for stopping over to leave a New Years message. I am in Day 7 of dealing with the flu.. Sending you much happiness and health wishes for 2017.

Sheri the photos you have shared today are exceptional! I've always loved bare trees as they become silhouettes against the sky. The frosty photos sure are pretty!. We had rain yesterday and today as we take down the Christmas tree and the decorations. Have a lovely afternoon, my friend. ♥

Aren't the palm trees gorgeous with the lights! And I love those big shabby roses on the fence. It was in the 80s here today but may cool down in a few days. I could use some cooler days and nights. Love your photos my friend. It's always a joy to visit your blog. Hugs, Diane

You truly capture the beautiful. It is hard to picture it being cold given it is summer where I am.

Sheri, your photos are STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!! I just responded to your email this morning and answered some of your questions about how I take photos, but woman, YOU DON'T NEED any of my tips! Gorgeous depth of field with that tree and you've also given me an idea for a January wreath of roses! Your musings are stunning dear friend. How special you are.

Here in our country we too finally get winter started .
you have very nice camera and really amazing skills for capturing as your photos have an artistic shine within!

It is third day that our sky is hidden under the blanket of dark grey clouds , in afternoon sun showed up among the clouds and my son called me out in front yard and asked " mom is it moon or sun"? as sun was looking a round white ball as like me he too got cold .

Hppy new year to you and family !

Sheri, it's beautiful there. I never knew there was cold in California. All we see of CA from the movies is the sand and the sea.

That church is so beautiful! And I love the garland with the pink. That might be one of the nicest I've ever seen.

Your gloom will release before our winter ends. Trust me on this!
