I'd Rather Sit On A Pumpkin

While driving on the road, I noticed this sign from far away.  All it takes is for me to see these two words, and I'm there.

The Pumpkin Patch is actually at a nursery, so I was able to take pictures of flowers as well.  There were orange pumpkins...and minis,

white pumpkins...and minis,

and even peach pumpkins!

This shaded area by the water fall and pond is often visited by the hummingbird.

There were flowers in Fall colors.

I loved these huge jugs.
They would be great for a garden.

It's just not a pumpkin patch without bales of hay.

Inside the nursery shop, I was looking at the creative fairy gardens to get ideas for when I make a garden
 for Francesca and Mia.

Mine will be very different though, and I already have some funky ideas for it.  ; )

Yes,
I did find just the right pumpkin
to take home with me.

I would rather sit on a pumpkin,
and have it all to myself,
than be crowded on a velvet cushion.
~Henry David Thoreau

This year I got a white pumpkin, but orange ones are still my favorite.
And I just have to show you the sweetest pictures that Nel sent me.  Baby Mia is wearing a Harry Potter onesie.

  1. Oh my goodness that Pumpkin Farm was enchanting - I wish it was here in Georgia. The colors from your camera are vivid. Do you have a professional camera?

Okay and that baby is out of this world beautiful. I love the dog looking at her - so sweet.

    Love, sandie

  2. So many pretties Sheri. The best is baby Mia. :):) The dog looks a bit worried. Some times that is how Max and Luke's dog Madison seems...they want to be right by the little ones. I think it's a sense of protection. A fairy garden will so fun you and your new little girls. Blessings to all, love you, xoxo, Susie

  19. How fun and how beautiful! What a grand day. I love those orange jugs, too. So pretty with the mums in them. And I love your pumpkin. I'm an any-color pumpkin kind of girl! And the more the merrier -- I hope it's not too late to get one when I get home from my trip. If I get it too early, it will squish!

  25. It’s been way too long Sheri! I just saw your comment on Dewena’s blog and jumped over to say hi.

How precious is your beautiful granddaughter Mia!! You must be over the moon happy.

I definitely feel autumn in the air, and we just returned from New York and it was DEFINITELY just around the corner up north. I love autumn, and your pics are so enticing they make me want to run out to a pumpkin patch right now :).

  26. Consider me officially inspired by your trip to the nursery. I plan to purchase several pots of mums at my local nursery and will likely pick up a pumpkin (or two...or three)too.

  29. Baby Mia is such a darling, Sheri, and I love the photo of her bonding with the dog. And I love that pumpkin patch! I was so curious about the heading of your post as I was not familiar with the quote and was wondering what the alternative was to sitting on a pumpkin which, if I'm honest, did not sound very comfortable to me. But then I did arrive at the quote and realized that that was the whole idea. A very satisfying end.
