A Lovely Sight

I was at the park, and I started to walk up the hill and noticed something in the distance.  I thought it was just a walker, but to my surprise....

What a sight!  How often do we see a deer at our nearby park?  It stopped and looked at me, then started coming closer onto the grass.

It just stayed there for the longest time eating the grass and observing me.

Then, someone's car started up, and the deer ran away and headed back to where she came from.

  2. Now there looks a familiar sight Sheri! Our deer just strolled by the kitchen window to drink at the bonzai bowl (I keep fresh water for them there).
Wishing you a nice peaceful weekend!

  4. Beautiful post! Around here the deer come into the yards sometimes...and eat people's gardens. Their habitat has been destroyed..they have nowhere to go. Beautiful animals...and sad. Your pictures are great!

  7. I can imagine how wonderful this moment was to you. We also have a park near by and in the early morning hours (when I am out for walking with my neighbour friend) we often see deer on the meadows. Unfortunately I never have a camera with me.

  10. Sheri, Those are great photos. I don't expect to see deer in our park. I have seen as many as eleven across the road coming out of the little woods. I have binoculars handy to see the birds, so I got to watch them go done into a ditch line and across the corn fields. hope you have abeautiful weekend. oxox,Susie

  21. My favorite animal in the world.

So much humanity in its life that is indeed a kind of magic - for some reason they were, for centuries, known as the "fairy cattle"; a magic you caught so well in the pics.

Christianity is riddled of examples of men transformed upon meeting and staring this magnificent animal.

So glad you were there and shared the sighting with us.

    Love you, Pretty Soul,
    Teresa

  23. They are so pretty but so destructive in the garden! They come right up to the front of my house and up the brick path to my side door! I wish they would find someplace else to visit. But you are right they are special when not feeding in your garden. Have a great week, Laura
