Sunday Drive

We took a ride to Grass Valley recently and had lunch and walked around in their old town.   Here is a picture of the historical Holbrooke Hotel.

Every old town has a time clock.

I thought this wolf sculpture was interesting.

While driving in the country, these horses grazing in the field were so pretty.  It takes me back to a time when I rode my brother-in-law's horse at his ranch in Oregon.

Remember these old style mail boxes?

Grass Valley is always a fun place to visit.

  3. Your photos are a great tour of the town; the horses, the wolf sculpture, the mail box. We visited Nevada City a few years ago so it was fun to see it here.

  7. Hi Sheri,
Thanks for sharing! Looks like it was a great day! Don't you just love the feeling you get from visiting towns as this, so much character! We have a clock very similar to this in our village. Hope you and your girls are having a wonderful summer! It's 102 here in MI...great day to stay inside and get crafty! Hugs, Pam

  8. Sheri,

This is small town love and a great post. It sort of reminds me of Mayberry where the Andy Griffith show was filmed. I love traveling through small towns. I like the smallness of them, the quaint store fronts, and the laid back attitude of the people who live in them. It takes me back in time when there was a Woolworth's 5 & 10, soda fountain drinks and swivel stools.

    Thanks for sharing!

  11. Look like it was a beautiful visit! There are so many of those clocks in towns that I think they must sell them at Costco! But I still like them … Laura

  16. Dear Sheri,

I love the changes on your blog and especialy the background music. While I write my comment I'm listening to Nat King Cole's Unforgetable, it takes me on a stroll down Memorie lane.

I'm honored to be one of your favorites on the new sidebar.

At the moment I'm not able to put new posts on my blog. Just a week ago my husband has been diagnosed with colon cancer. With the medical treatments and coping with the changes in our life we are taking one step at the time, having positive thoughts because there is always something to be thankful for.

    Love,
    B.
