White Christmas.......And Some Red

Well, I've seen all the seasons up here in the mountains, and Winter is definitely my favorite.  We had our first snowfall last week, with about a foot of snow, and our second snowfall is supposed to come on Wednesday through Christmas.  This is my first White Christmas, and even if it doesn't snow on that day, the days leading up to it are wonderful.  Yes, Winter is my favorite season here, and this is why.

My blog friend, Carla, made these snowmen for me many years ago.  They are so cute.  She hand painted them, put twigs on for the arms, a cotton ball on the hat for snow, and glitter and snow on the base of the snowman.  I smile when I look at them, cause I have all of these things now in the woods!  These little guys stay out until January.

Nel's creative chalk art this Christmas.

Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth.

Jesus is the true light of the world!

 Merry Christmas!

  2. You are in a winter wonderland!! I picture you living you high up in an ice palace. I love your little dog and candy cane hanging on your cabinet door, I am now going to do something similar! I never thought of decorating a kitchen cabinet!! What a sweet, sweet face serving us warm cookies! I have seen this blue cabinet and almost bought it! It was at Target I think, I just love it.

  3. Wow, Sheri your snow is gorgeous and oh so Christmasy! We don't often have snow at Christmas, although I would love it. I can feel the quietness that your photos express! Love the Santa hat in the snow--Maybe Santa will pick it up this year on his way to visit your darling granddaughters. Nel's chalk art is beautiful. Blessings to you as we remember the night that our Lord and Saviour was born!

  4. Ooh looks like you have a lot to go over and look at.
I love the totally white snow with the really pretty red decorations. What a stark contrast. Some ice and some snow - you really got a lot of snow.
    Looks like a winter wonderland.
Love the grands - they are getting ready for Christmas.
The one photo with a brown box - not sure what it is.
Candy canes. I love the hat in the snow.
    Your daughter is an artist.

  7. Oh my that is a lot of snow! We had just a flurry this morning and it looked so pretty. It melted as soon as it hit the ground though so we have nothing to show for it. I wish for a white Christmas but I don't think we will have one. I love the Christmas verses about Mary.

  8. Sheri, I see you are enjoying snow. Bless your heart and all your pretty girls. I think of you and many others that I have not been in touch with for some time now. The holidays have had bits of charm and warmth, but so very different for me now with my Teddy gone. Blessings to all of you, xoxo love, Susie

  16. WOW.....I am loving that snow. You really got a lot. They did a ten yr outlook here in Nashville and said we would have little to none for the next ten yrs. Crazy, we used to have snows like you have had. Beautiful...just beautiful. I love the Santa hat and the Snowfolks out in the snow. If I don't get with you again before Christmas, Merry, Merry, Merriest Christmas to you.

  17. What an incredible painting of Mary and Baby Jesus. So beautiful. I can't even believe the beauty of your mountain home. The snow is amazing. I lived in snowy Santa Fe for a few years and it reminds me that area but more beautiful due to the trees. Thank you for sharing all the photos of home and outdoors! I love those little snowmen your friend Carla made you! So cute.

  18. I can hear the song, 'White Christmas' playing in my head, Sheri, as this is the stuff that dreams are made of! Such beautiful scenes and I can feel the stillness and the peace. Love the little snowmen and the Santa hat on the snow. I scrolled down to catch up - how special that you were able to visit your sweet family and it looks like you had a wonderful time. Seven hours is a long journey, though. Love your beautiful Madonna painting. Wishing you a peaceful and blessed Christmas, dear friend. Sending love and hugs xo K

  22. Oh Sheri, your winter photos look like something out of CHronicles of Narnia or The Snow Queen! Even though I'm not snow's biggest fan, I confess, if I saw it like that, I might change my mind. It's magical. I love your red and each and every photo. That red hat on the snow is a gem!

  25. So beautiful. I have never seen snow like that in person. It is going to be record heat in the South for Christmas, which is kind of a bummer. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  28. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss having a white Christmas, and your shots make me feel nostalgia for Christmas’s past (even more than that I miss autumn), It’s been a while since I’ve dropped by but wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas Sheri, and a most joyous and happy new year!

P.S. I’m not blogging so don’t worry about visiting ;).
