Baby Blessings

Dear friends, I know it's been a while. The last four months have been a whirlwind of activity. My husband and I have been balancing two full-time jobs with full-time baby care (it was a complicated dance...), planning a cross-country move from Georgia to California (we're on the road now!), and job-searching (I accepted an offer from Cal State LA just last week!). Lots going on around here, but amid all the hustle and bustle we made time for a very special, peaceful day with God.

We wanted our little Georgia Peach to be baptized in her sweet southern birthplace.

Our priest was the best. Such a warm and loving man with a great sense of humor. We all took an immediate liking to him. Mia actually clapped at the end of his sermon. ( :

And the godmama flew out all the way from California to join us!

This little girl brings so much joy into my life.

And now throughout her life, she'll have a faith tradition to call home.

  4. My precious Mia, you're Baptized now. That pleases grandma very much. It's a long drive, Nel, but take it slow and enjoy all the states you will pass through and all the interesting things you will see along the way. : )

  10. Oh Nel, Mia is just as precious as can be. You certainly shared beautiful photos with us. Thank you. Everyone looks great. Yes, juggling full time work with baby care on top of it is a heavy load. Maybe with your move you will be closer to Mama Sheri? She'd probably LOVE to help take care of that darling little treasure of yours. Congratulations to all! Susan

  12. I know Sheri is happy you and the family are coming back HOME. Mia is so beautiful. She is so sweet. Sheri said that you were able to stop off in Tennessee on your way through. Hope you enjoyed our state and was able to make it into Nashville. Safe travels home.
