Nel sent me a Starbuck's gift card
in the mail,
and one day I got up early,
got my coffee and raspberry loaf,
and drove up over the hill to see the sunrise.
It was such a wonderful sight.
The sun rises early here, around 6:00.

It's been a hot summer, sometimes

and just trying to stay cool.

Sheri, Your children know what you like, don't they ? I loved the sky shots. You know I enjoy seeing the sun rise and also set of an evening. It's good to start our day with a nice coffee...hey and a treat is always good. I saw on the news this week...that drinking coffee will make us live longer. Hooray, some good news for a change. I hope you get a cool down there. We have low humidity today and I am going outside to sit on the porch today. I will read and write letters. Blessings to you, enjoy your day honey. Love, xoxo, Susie

ReplyDeleteYep...we have been hitting temps with the heat index of around 97, storming now. Great pics of the sunrise. Being retired I don't happen to be out on the way to work and see the sunrise. That was sweet of Nel to send you a Starbucks card. I have not tried the raspberry loaf but I love raspberry so I will have to try that.

What a thoughtful gift for you Sheri, and you made the best use of it. The sunrise was stunning, especially the first picture. Matches the raspberry cake! Keep cool, it sounds awful hot over there.
ReplyDeleteYou are an early riser, just like me. The sunrise is one of my favorite things to see first thing in the morning. Yes, it's been high 90s here, and today we're supposed to be cooler, but these are perfect days to stay still, pensive and let summer embrace you. Have a super day my friend!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Sheri. Yesterday my son, his wife and little CJK went through Starbucks (on their way somewhere). After they got through the drive-thru CJK said- Hey- what about a Starbucks for Nana? (I always take CJK with me if I am taking him to pre-school). LOL...My son went back through the line and drove 7 miles back to bring me a coffee (oh---and a muffin). Love my Starbucks.
ReplyDeleteLove even more that kids remember we love Starbucks! xo Diana

Good Afternoon Dear Sheri,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunrise my lovely friend and just like you I wake up early.
Living in California you have the very best of sunrises. I remember growing up in Idaho and the magnificent sunrises over the Mountains. I think living in the west is magical Sheri, and I hope someday we can find our way back that way...
Thank you for this treat.
Love,
Jemma
