Porch Project

I have been working on lots of home projects this summer.

One project in need of some serious love was my outdoor patio.

I have neglected it for far too long. This wasn't the worst of it. I wish I had remembered to take a better 'before picture' before I started cleaning it up. The whole porch was covered in a big pile of dead leaves and my succulents were so unruly, one of them came up to my knees.

 'haunted' birdhouse

With the help of a friend who is succulent savvy, I replanted and spruced up my husband's mini succulent garden.

After cleaning up the gigantic pile of leaves, countless cobwebs,

and giving my bistro set a wash-down, I bought a bright bougainvillea plant, which reminds me of my favorite place, Southern California.

I hope it survives! I don't exactly have a green thumb, and my porch doesn't get lots of direct sun.

I ordered these custom cushions on Etsy from the U.K. to brighten up the brown space and add a Frenchy feel.

And now I can relax and enjoy my clean and restored outdoor area.

  6. You have such a flair for decorating...my girls have it, too, but I just don't. It makes me appreciate it all the more, I think, when I see others put it to use.
