Our Things

We all have our favorite
things that we
look at each day,
treasures of the heart,
and here are
a few of mine.  : )

My favorite tea cup.
It has a bird
on the other side too.

I've had my china hutch
for many years.

Girl dressed in white
and white glitter
roses.
The words say
Living with passion.

My favorite pic of the girls
on a 1920's night out.

Paperweight on my desk.

Jasmine candle,
me and Nel's favorite
scent.

Love blue in the home.

He is the happiest,
be he King or peasant,
who finds peace
in his home.

~Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Have a nice weekend
in your homes.

  1. Lovely post...

And.... I have never seen Downton Abbey either!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I love sets.

    I love costumes.

But I did not want the angst, of following a long story line. Which had to have pain, in it.

    :-)

We should start a club! "The Few Who Never Watched D.A." ,-)

  4. I love pretty flowers here and there in a home...so pretty. And I used a coffee mug with a bird on the side, too. I usually change my cup pretty often. Right now mine has a goldfinch on the side. Happy Saturday!

  5. Sheri, Your daughters are so pretty. I bet that look like you. I love your quote. The lady picture is so pretty too. I love having things my girls got me near. But we all would rather have the children near, wouldn't we? :):) Blessings, love you, Susie

What a beautiful post - just right for the weekend.
It is so lovely to have things that mean a lot and bring back and hold special memories.

I do like the words 'the heart that loves is always young'

Wishing you a most pleasant of weekends - we have it rather cold in the UK at the moment.

    All the best Jan

  7. Sheri, my favorties are the framed photo of your girls and the frame itself. It's so pretty and romantic. I also love the small blue platter. I've always heard and tried to do, "Surround yourself with the things that make you smile."

  9. It's a breathing moment to surround yourself with the beauty that inspires your days. It was nice to see what inspires you.
The hutch is often overlooked with what's inside of it due to how much we often pack into it. Yours is displayed with grace and beauty here.
It was a nice visit to another California Girl, your daughters are beautiful look to be about my daughters age.

    See you soon.

  12. Sheri,
For us it's a weekend home, cooking and enjoying our home. Your shares are beautiful and the painting truly says it all - live with passion. Isn't that really what a life should be about? I am trying my best to live my days with passion in all I do. I too love the scent of Jasmine and have a soy candle (not yours) that I light in the bathroom when soaking in the tub.
Love the photograph of your daughters, your mug and everything you shared with us today. A truly beautiful share.
    xoxo,
    Vera

  14. Yes, it is the simple little things, the sentimental things, that mean a lot to us. A color that makes us happy, a teacup that feels just right in our hands, a candle whose scent matches our chemistry, pictures that remind us of dear ones and happy times. All of these and others make up the place where we are truly at home.

    Lovely, Sheri!

  15. Sheri,
I love this post! My home has always been a special place and there are treasures that I love. The simple things mean so much ~ a wonderful candle, pretty flowers and photos, that perfect mug. I have a "mug addiction" ~ :) I like to use different ones for my coffee, depending on how I feel each morning. Your girls are gorgeous!!

It was so nice to visit your home and see your treasures! Hope you're having a great weekend. It's extremely cold here with rain.

  25. Beautiful shares of the joys in your life. Truly it is those things that we love, find nourishing to your souls and inspire those brief moments throughout the day that comfort us. These things make a house a home, a sanctuary from the world and place that soothes and calms.
Your girls are beautiful, just like their Mother.

Love the cup, and the girls look as gorgeous as ever in that photograph.
We had a very similar china hutch for about 23 years. I left it behind when we moved. And now we're moving again, so please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
Love touches of blue in the home as well.
