Downtown Fun

We have a downtown
festival every week
in our town during the
summer months.

There are goodies to buy,
and the shop windows
are all decked out
to look at when the
people are passing by.

Kids play tirelessly
in the fountains.

Polished vintage cars
are on display.

And there's a bench
to sit at when you can't
walk any more.

It's a fun thing to do
in our town during these
hot summer months.

  1. Downtown festival, every weekend. Lovely.

And BRILLIANT of the downtown merchants, to sponsor such a thing. Because I'm sure they have some part in the sponsorship, along with the city itself. Because these things, don't just happen spontaneously.

I know, because my city has downtown festivals, and they don't "just happen."

Hooray for everyone involved. Those who thought of them. Those who sponsor them. And those, who enjoy them.

  3. Oh how fun, I love festivals. Those vintage cars were wonderful, too. There was a time when my daughters would see a VW Beetle and they'd yell out 'punch buggy' and I would get clobbered... lightly, of course. Those were the days... :)

Have a lovely weekend, Sheri... :)

  9. We have a lot of Summer Fairs and Carnivals around the UK at this time of year and I love supporting our local town and community. The get-togethers are such fun ... the weather sometimes lets us down but we do our best.

Your photo's look amazing, the cars have an amazing shine too!

Hope you have a beautiful weekend Sheri

    All the best Jan

  11. What fun! I love the idea of the kiddos playing among the festivities. Makes me think of simpler times. I love the car. We have a place near where we live that hosts an old car show every Friday. I've got to get there with my camera one day.

  14. GOod morning my friend! It's a hot one out here finally. We've had mild weather, sunny and even stormy at times, but now that July is almost over, the humidity is starting to hit! But there's nothing more fun than to be OUT with the family and enjoy seeing the kids experience summer. Your town looks like an artistic place to be! I hope you are well, and I am praying for you - you are a dear, dear friend. XOXOX

  15. It would be like being away on holiday every weekend in your town. I think we picked the wrong neighborhood to live in! But then, any neighborhood that sweet Sheri lived in would be a good one!

  25. My hubby and I always joke that, if we win the lottery, we are going to buy an antique car. I love them!
We have a Farmer's Market here which is similar in that it has a festival feel. I love the fresh produce, home-style baking and cut flowers at a price that is hard to resist.

  26. Thank you for the visit to my blog and for the sweet comment you left me.
I hope that your daughter's teaching career is filled with blessings. To me, teaching is a calling from The Lord, and I loved teaching. I retired after 33 years, but I truly believe that a teacher always has " chalk dust in her(his) veins. "
Thank you again for your visit and kind comment.
    Hugs,
    Jackie

  29. Dearest Sheri! HELLO! I just saw your comment on my blog. I would most definitely see RIA in the Netherlands, but do you know who The Dutchess is? She and I go way back to when I first started to blog. She is just the most gentle and creative, witty and funny human being. She is very special, and if I went there, I'd have to see her AND Ria, Madelief, and a few other friends! YES!

I hope to connect with you very soon my beloved friend. LOVE!

Have you read St Therese's Story of a Soul? Beautiful.
