A Day At The Lake

We went to the lake recently, and I was so surprised to see how low it was.  We had to walk a ways just to get to the edge.  It was a chilly day, but the sun was shining and the lake looked like it always does....so peaceful and pretty.

I spotted a few seashells that got washed up on shore.

There was a flock of geese nearby, and all of a sudden I heard their loud warning honk, as I got a bit too close for their comfort, and gradually one by one flew away.

The sun was so bright on the lake that it looked like little stars were caressing it.

I saw a knotty burl that was smiling back at me.  Do you see it too?

It was a beautiful day at the lake.

  6. What a beautiful lake! I did see the smile in the burl. I also had to smile because the little stars you saw on the lake were just like the little stars I saw on the snow this morning. :) Have a great weekend!

  13. WOW the lake is really low. Great pictures, you really did a wonderful job. Those geese can get quite mean, especially if there are babies around.
Glad that you had a good time at the lake.

  15. How beautiful Sheri. Lovely pictures of the lake and mountains, and are those Canada Geese? I like to see them fly in formation, something we do not see here.

  16. Our lakes are too frozen over to visit right now, but around Easter time, I hope they will be ready to spy.....last Easter, we drove out before sunrise, parked the car, and watched the steam rise as well as the sun, from the horizon of that lake....water and sky, nature at its best is one of the best ways to ring in the hope of new life. When we lived in Massachusetts, on the North Shore of Boston, we had the ocean as our backdrop for sunrise Easter services.

Your photos today dear friend, are so soothing. AND...we shall speak again! That was so fun, but what a bummer to be cut off...this too was also a very busy week, bustling about from here to there....I will call you. LOVE! Anita

  18. Sheri,
So enjoying your photos today and the serene day at the lake. I certainly need some sunshine and blue skies as Texas has been hit with a severe Winter Storm and it's gloomy and cold. I am counting down the days to when I fly out to see Amanda next month-I just know I will enjoy beautiful weather.
    Have a fun weekend!

  22. Oh so beautiful, what a nice day! I now live right next to the ocean. However, since I moved I no longer have the space or time for my French shop. It does give me more time to train my show dogs so that is a good thing :)
Have a blessed week my friend.
