The Heart of Summer

We're in the heart
of summer here
in California,


and here's a
few pictures to see
what it looks like.

 
This little guy is
feeding on the bugs
from the sky.

 
Is that a raindrop I see?

 
Cool....it's raining!

 
But only for a
few minutes.
The sun is coming
through again.

 
We have three July
birthdays in my
family.
 

I see a lot of these
around here.

 
There's something
about red flowers that
gets me every time.

    Good morning dearest friend! I am not a coffee drinker, so I never go to the Starbucks, but I think that putting great quotes or poetry on the coffee cups is a STELLAR idea. While enjoying a simple pleasure of life, people can read a little tidbit that can help lift them for the day. I just finished reading some essays on the "Relevance of Poetry" and look..here it is. On an every day, ubiquitous object such as a coffee cup, poetry has made its mark. We need language to communicate something we can identify with. LOVELY! Anita

    Sheri, Great summer pictures. We had a storm this morning, not too long ...we did get 1/3 inch of rain...need a bit more. But it is cloudy and so the rain we got isn't drying up too fast. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    I always wonder - when looking at mine - how's the sky where you are. I know how much you love to watch and marvel in that beauty far far away.

    We're pretty much having the same weather. And this is my favorite Summer weather. If it is too hot and for too long it gets to me and takes all my strength away. This way it depletes me but soon will fill again. Love it!

    I love flowers - any flower - after the rain. Your bush is glorious but is suffering from so many roses it has been giving. I read in a newspaper it's time to feed it so guess what I'll do when I get home? Right, feed Sheri's Roses ahahahaha

    We have a Starbucks in the mall close to our home but I'm not a regular... in fact, I enter it to see the mugs and enjoy the atmosphere much more than to enjoy coffee or something. But if I was a regular I'd be delighted with the quotes. But you knew that, right?

    Fun pictures, Sheri. AJ and I were just talking about the Starbucks quotes a couple of days ago when we stopped for a frapp. You know me, I simply LOVE inspirational quotes, so I say it's a great idea.

    Good Afternoon Sheri, I only visit Starbucks now and again, so I have not seen the quotes, but I like the quote on the Starbucks cup which you shared with us.
    I loved that you took a photograph of the rain on your window pane as when I lived in Cyprus, we used to go outside and stand in the first rains after a long hot summer. It was so refreshing. Nowadays, I experience a lot of rain here in England, so I take sunny photographs.
    I love how you have captured a moment in time with the photograph of the bird feeding on the bugs... it is a wonderful photograph.

    We are enjoying some Californian sunshine and blue skies over here. We don't very often have such warm summers like this one. Such a treat to be able to eat outdoors and stay outside in the evening. Your photos are as usual stunning and I like the quotes on the Starbucks cups too. I shall have to see if we have them over here.

    Adding the quotes to the Starbucks coffee is a grand idea. I never go often but when I do it is enjoyable.

    Aww I love the two birdy pictures! You're so good at capturing nature on camera! I find it quite difficult, all your photos are lovely! That wrapping paper is very cool too! Sometimes its nice to have birthdays all at once (but sometimes a little stressful! lol). Again congrats to your daughters wonderful news.
