Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler

Let the good times roll...

because it's Mardi Gras!

Time to break out the beads, blow up the balloons, and blast the jazz and blues!

You know how Jess and I love to get festive for the holidays!

And since we visited New Orleans in 2011, we can't let a Mardi Gras go by without celebrating... Southern-style!

We made some Cajun inspired treats--jambalaya and mini-muffulettas--which we washed down with a couple of glasses of ice-cold sweet tea.

And how can you celebrate Mardi Gras without traditional King Cake? Well, you simply can't! My dear friend Teah got the piece with the baby this time around, which means she'll be bringing this scrumptious dessert to the party next year.

We even put on a little holiday makeup to mark the occasion!

Of course we look for any reason to celebrate life with family and friends!

And we wish YOU, our fabulous friends, a rolling good time on this Fat Tuesday!

It's Mardi Gras!

  10. Looks like a great Mardi Gras party. Wish I was nearer, I'd pop in. What beautiful girls you are, with or without those fabulous masks, & love the glitzy eye make up. Being English we celebrate this day 'Shrove Tuesday' with pancakes. I was in New Orleans with my husband many years ago, visiting my brother who took us to 'The Bacchus Ball' for Mardi Gras, I'll always remember the Texans wearing their fabulous Stetsons, dancing on the tables, hooping & hollering. A wonderful memory. Enjoy your party.

Marie introduced me to Mardi Gras tradition several years ago and I always love celebrating it with her even though there's many miles between us. You girls look gorgeous in those divine masks.

  26. You both look fabulous and this looks such a fun and colourful party in true Mardi Gras style. I hadn't heard about this King Cake tradition before but it's similar to the French one eaten at Epiphany on the 6th January.
