A Gift Of Love

Nel gave gifts to all the bridal party, and her dad's and my gift was a horse and carriage ride downtown, and afterwards a romantic dinner on the river.  Wasn't that nice of her?

While we were strolling
through town, we saw
some amazing buildings.
The tower bridge

The charming old buildings
made me realize how many
years of history took place
in them.

The rose velvet seats
in the carriage were
so pretty.

The carriage dropped us
off right in front of the
restaurant.  I ordered a
favorite of mine,
chicken fettuccine.

The view of the river
was beautiful.

After I took these pictures,
I noticed a rainbow
surrounding the sun.

Have you ever been on a
horse and carriage ride?

    Very romantic photos Sheri.
I can imagine that your great day was remembering such great years of bringing up your girls and sweet Nel's wedding.!
I have never been in a horse and carriage.
I did however own my own donkey and cart..and many many years ago, would take a ride with him and go to the village or takes friends around.
    she died many years ago.
Your fettucini looks delicious.. i love fettucini any way.
    happy days

  4. Hi Sheri,

No, I haven't been on a carriage ride but when we used to visit downtown Chicago, there were carriages you could ride in. We never did though. How sweet of your daughter to give you such a great treat! I imagined you needed a break from all the wedding preparation. I'm so glad everything went well! :)

  6. Sheri,
Thank you for dropping by, I have just been out of it since the dead of my cousin, didn't even participate on pink saturday this week.
No, have not been and I'm jealous...what a lovely gift from your daughter and even a dinner, wow! You know I always wanted to go on one but wanted it to come from Rick and he never said anything, so we never went, now of course it would be impossible. Now I feel like I should of said something.
Learned my lesson. Blessings and so happy for your carriage ride, Lu

  7. I always insist in one horse and carriage ride every year.
Lucky for me in my Country several touristic locations carry this bonus.
I was so excited when you told me about it. Much more now that I saw the rainbow (Hope again and always surrounding you and your beloved ones) and the ride through your eyes/pictures.
    Thank you for sharing,
    T

  9. What a thoughtful gift - original too! I would have been very happy with the chicken fettuccine too. The last time I was in a horse and carriage was when I was a child on the Isle of Man (off the coast of North West England) You have brought back memories!

  18. Sheri, what a lovely gift!!! Looks like you had a wonderful ride and dinner. Love your picture with the rainbow and the sun, beautiful. On Mackinaw Island in northern Michigan, they have no cars only horse and buggy or bikes! Have taken carriage rides on the island. Thanks for stopping by, Laura

  19. Hi Sheri,
What a lovely and thoughtful idea as a gift. It looks like a beautiful area to go on a carriage ride on. I have never been on a horse drawn carriage ride, though I would love to. The closest I have been is a horse drawn hay ride as a child, during the winter time around the little town where I grew up..with Christmas carols and hot drinks :)
Thanks for always paying me a visit and leaving such nice comments, they mean so much to me. Poppy and I are doing well..she is sure growing and the days just seem to fly by much quicker now then ever before.
Have a great day today x

  22. Sheri,

How thoughtful of Nel and such a special gift for you. Looks like you had a lovely ride and dinner. The rainbow around the sun is certainly a good sign for many happy years ahead!

I appreciate your lovely comment on my post. When I photographed the dolls, I selected two who could be "sisters" posing for a family portrait.

    Sending blessings your way.
